背景
The killer Agent Pendergast is after, or the main villain of the story. [SPOILERS] His appearance is described as that of a muscular, yet deformed middle-aged man, with a child-like face. He resides within the Kraus's Kaverns, from which he exits from time to time to explore the world and commit unwilling homicides. His mind is severely underdeveloped, to the point where he acts and reasons amorally, like an amoral child, driven by the desire to discover the world outside the cave he grew up in and find some friends to "play" with. He was raised and subsequently hid away in the caves by Winifred Kraus, the inheritor of the Kraus's Kaverns, after she carried out an unwanted pregnancy more than fifty years prior to the story.
