I think there's a big misconception about where the strength of the bard comes from. It isn't wit, charm and personability, their wide collection of skills ans information, or their mastery over the arts. The power of the bard is primarily self-expression and the ability to intimate their feelings so powerfully that shit gets real. It is exactly like the secular paladin, who draws their power from faith alone protestant style. The bard on the other hand never needed a god. Those aspects never intersect, and my points all apply regardless.
