Warner's lanky, often haggard appearance lent itself to a variety of villainous characters as well as more sympathetic roles across a range of media, often in science fiction or fantasy titles or period dramas, including The Omen, Time After Time (as Jack the Ripper), A Christmas Carol (as Bob Cratchit opposite George C. Scott's Ebenezer Scrooge), Titanic, the personification of Evil in Time Bandits and various characters in the Star Trek franchise.
