I can understand why some might think that he's an ISTP (that was my first guess), but in my opinion, he has absolutely no Ti. I think he is driven by his values and by his beliefs about his parents who he thought were dead. Also, the fact that he's easily manipulated, especially when the situation has to do with the fluid war, shows that he doesn't leave much room for doubt and that he believes he can avenge his parents, one way or another. It looks pretty much like Fi. I think he's an unhealthy and broken ISFP that really starts to evolve at the end of season 3.
