Niko Bellic MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Niko Bellic? Niko Bellic is an ISFP personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sx/sp - 694 in Enneagram, RLUEI in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.

God, I hate that the GTA V model is being used when the lighting makes him look like an action figure. Edit: ty Niko is easily the most well-developed protagonist in the series, Yahtzee Croshaw did a great video on him that I'd recommend. He may be Rockstar's first attempt at serious characterisation in their games but is unfortunately held back by being in a setting as silly as the GTA universe. However, his personality does make him a good fit for the protagonist of a sandbox game. A common problem in open-world games that try to have sympathetic protagonists is the player's ability to do whatever depraved act the game will allow. While Niko is sympathetic, holds basic principles of loyalty and respect in high regard and genuinely seems to want to be better, he is also a violent lunatic who will happily take on jobs that require him to beat, kidnap and kill people. The scene with him and Faustin's wife explains so much about his character - he's a man broken by war and who has lost all faith in humanity. When that players force him to shoot up a hospital or drive through pedestrians, it's just as in character for him as when the player takes him to a burger joint. Whereas Arthur Morgan and John Marston are characters who often struggle with their morality, Niko no longer cares. One of the reasons IV is my favourite game in the series is the little details of Niko's deranged screaming during gunfights and his threats if you point a gun at people - "I've been in a war, this means nothing." As for his typing, Niko is a clear ISFP. He acts according to his principles rather than any sense of internal logic, one example of this is when he spots that Phil has a relationship with Pegorino's wife and despite not having much respect for the mafia - knowing full well that they're using him - he can't bring himself to blackmail Phil into helping him find Darko and backs down the moment Phil accuses him. Niko doesn't have it in him to manipulate or lie to others. He takes his word very seriously and holds others to that standard. He actually has a fairly helpful nature, often to his detriment since he's frequently used for dangerous jobs the more important criminals are happy to pass off to him, but he hits a breaking point eventually and demands to be taken seriously. The entirety of GTA IV is Niko being used and betrayed by those who also bought into the American dream and see Niko as another bottom feeder chasing the next paycheck, disposable. They underestimate his dedication to his principles and don't really understand the violence within him. Niko is a victim of an ethnoreligious conflict that destroyed his life and killed his friends, and that's a very different beast from being a materialist goon with no morals.
