— Bocchi is Fi dom! Hello again! Stopping by just to further explain why I think Bocchi is Fi dom. Fi is a judgment function just like Ti, so I understand where the confusion might come from. I am not Fi dom, so don't worry, the "I relate" as an argument will not appear here. One thing I've been noticing a lot on pages of INTP characters or with arguments for INTP is the reliance on the lower Fe function as if that's all it takes for a person to be INTP. Well; it isn't. Bocchi's insecurity in general (going off the ground of her social anxiety) is to be accepted, so she tries to suppress her Fi and focus more on what works externally. Te and Fe are external judgment functions (deal with society, aka people), so for example, in the first episode she showed all her methods to get the attention of people who also share her tastes. She came up with tactics that were not so flashy and that in practice seem to work (that's what you see out there every day!). So when she decides to make or create something that resonates with what other people would do or like to hear, she is trying to fit into the external structure that people expect. At no point does it deal with collective feeling? It is pure structural logic (Te); it works for others, so it is the most practical way to achieve it! Result: Bocchi is terrible at this, because she is much better at relying on her feelings, on how she feels about things. Ti is about impersonal logic. A Ti dom tries to get as far away from the object as possible so as not to affect judgment. Where did Bocchi do this? Her judgment is completely Fi-Ne. The brainstorming always comes from what she thinks of it, how it resonates with her, what it is doing to her as a person, and it is sticking to the object too much. She is personal at ALL times. She judges people based on values, even if she doesn't want to be mean—such as when Nijika invited her to the band, or when she saw that man alone in the park. It's all judged based on her own experiences that she has and how she feels about those experiences (Fi-Si). She always includes this in her judgments. Fi is not just a moral (if so, Ti dom have no morals), it just means that the person judges from values separate from the values of the tribe (Fe). The values that resonate most with the person PERSONALLY. Of course, Fi is much more than that. The judgment is internal and based on values and.... Uh... Isn't that exactly what Bocchi does? She is insecure, but in her mind, in her internal monologues, it is full of what she actually is and what she thinks of people and situations. Wanting to please others is not Fe, inferior Te can cause that too, and it's not limited to functions! All the things that challenge her make her think about how it affects her, how it affects her identity. When she received encouragement from Ryo about she can express herself the way she wants, Bocchi did very well, the opposite of when she tries to imitate what she sees because she thinks it is what is acceptable for people these days. I don't see any internal logic; in fact, she tries to trust Te more than she should. And that's where she fails the most. Those are my thoughts on Fi dom Bocchi. Be free to counter argue!
