What personality type is Galo Thymos? Galo Thymos is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - so/sx - 783 in Enneagram, SCUAN in Big 5, SEE in Socionics.
I see the ESFP (Fi & Te) vs ESTP (Ti & Fe) debate going here and I decided I'll give my take on it! Ti users strive more in knowing their belief systems are accurate, while Fi users strive in knowing their belief systems are moral. Ti tends to be more open to interpretation, while Fi tends to see more black and white. Now tying this to Galo, he is clearly morally-motivated. Once Kray presented the experiments on the Burnish to him, Galo was quick to turn against Kray because of the situation clearly being morally wrong. While of course it's expected for anyone to see Kray in a negative light after finding out about the experiments, there would be a different way a Ti user and a Fi user would come to the conclusion. A Ti user would debate whether the benefits it brings (saving a select few instead of the whole world dying) outweighs the negatives (torturing and killing Burnish). Once concluding they do not, they would then turn against Kray. A Fi user wouldn't debate. They'd be quick to make a judgement based on the morality of the situation. Again, Galo is quick to turn against Kray as he views things in a more black and white matter. Good and evil. Specific examples aside though, just because Galo knows how to act during a crisis/emergency, doesn't mean he's a Ti user. It is apart of his job. His ability to act well in crises aims more at him being a 7w8, rather than his MBTI I'd say. Throughout the film he acts much more on his emotions than thoughts, and his ability to remain calm when necessary doesn't override that. So while I do understand why some would interpret him as an ESTP, I'm gonna have to stick with ESFP!
