MBTI — Si-Te-Fi-Ne —> Si-Ne: I feel that Ratchet was primarily focused on processing “concrete details via compare/contrast with past experiences”, having been “meticulous” and “logistical”. — In “The Thrill of the Hunt”, Ratchet initially resigned himself to his cynical worldview of safety when Lockdown presented himself, but he later relied on his established knowledge with the EMP device to get the upper hand on the bounty hunter. —> Si-Te: Secondarily, I feel that Ratchet was strong in learning “systematically from mistakes” and he put “factual information before personal expectations”. — In “Garbage In, Garbage Out”, despite his crabby attitude to others, Ratchet objectively gauged and realized the safety threat that Porter C Powell’s nanobots proved it Detroit, so he took upon himself to responsibly address the danger. —> Te-Fi: I feel that Ratchet at times struggled with knowing “the right way” of doing things, but stubbornly held onto “the wrong way anyway” as it was more familiar to him. — There was the crisis in “TransWarped” in which Bulkhead was injured; Ratchet possibly demonstrated his insecurity over his being capable of contributing with his medical expertise, having been frustrated with his being overshadowed by Sari’s key. Biography
Ratchet suffered through the Great War millions of years back, experiences which have caused him to be grumpy 24/7. He refuses to talk about his time there (especially with an eager Optimus Prime) and suffers Vietnam-style flashbacks due primarily to two traumatic incidents of failing in his profession: accidentally wiping Arcee's memory core and having to participate in the near-death of Omega Supreme that reduced the giant to a mere spaceship. Despite his constant angry outbursts, however, Ratchet possesses a sweet side deep down.
