Personality

What personality type is H.G. Tannhaus? H.G. Tannhaus is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sp/so - 592 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, in Socionics.

“Our thinking is shaped by dualism.” - Feeling and Thinking, Sensing and iNtuiting MBTI —> Okay, I understand that there is a general consensus here that Tannhaus is sort of a “safe” favorite character because of Ne, but I should note that even he had a bit of unsettled reaction when the Stranger had basically confirmed the developments of his speculative Ti-Ne theories on physics and times. —> Otherwise, he largely balances the theoretical exploration of his auxiliary Ne through process with a complementary framework of Si experience as shown in his authenticity of acknowledging the fraudulence of his book as it was a product of a bootstrap paradox. —> Obviously, it develops with time, but his inferior Fe is what got him into shambles that started everything that takes place in Dark the first place, not having appropriately acknowledged for his son and being quite detached into Ti-Ne dreamland. ENNEAGRAM —> I know, it’s pretty commonplace, but yeah, pretty much a 5w4; I think his Wing 4 comes through in his more individualistic pursuit of knowledge as opposed to a pragmatic framework of established knowledge - especially shows in acknowledging the human will fighting against deterministic time bit in his conversation with the Stranger. —> Before Jonas and Martha revert things, I think he sort of attained a bit of an 8-like integrative phase in his older age when it came to his knowledge, again, which shows in the authenticity of recognizing the fraudulence in his book and also assuming the courageous protector qualities, such as with Charlotte. —> And yeah, he feel into more unstable uncertainty with 7-like disintegration when he lost his son and family by throwing together his time machine and causing what he had. PERSONAL THOUGHTS —> I know, I’m not above being guilty of Tannhaus being a “safe” favorite character for his Ne, but I don’t necessarily think Ne alone leads to more open-minded acceptance of time circumstances, like Ti also comes through in characters like Ulrich, Bartosz, and even Egon with his tertiary Ti. —> But yeah, one of the reasons Season 1 Episode 8 (the one where Ulrich ends up in ‘53) tends to stick out as one my favorites of the series is that Tannhaus actually took the time to explain and sort out things without committing to Sic Mundus bullshit of deliberately confusing people and provoking disbelief. —> I just wish there was more screen time dedicated to origin world and Tannhaus’s familial struggles as it was largely dedicated to an exposition dump per the issue of Season 3 cramming too much within is meager 8 episodes. Thank you.
