Personality

What personality type is Vincent Anton Freeman "Jerome"? Vincent Anton Freeman "Jerome" is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sp/so - 513 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.

Coming to a concrete decision on Vincent’s type proved more difficult than I initially thought, though I believe he has a clear propensity towards a dominant introverted observing function. Though I did see some ISTJ qualities in him, I see him as more of an Ni dom based on a few things. Firstly, he has a clear goal that isn’t grounded in facts but in a vision of how the future could be. He is also less routine and detail oriented and focuses more on the bigger picture. I think that I originally considered ISTJ based on the fact he does have a specific routine and focus on details, though I feel like this was more a necessity for him – a means to an end. I ultimately came to the conclusion of INTJ over INFJ because he seems more like an Fi user than an Fe user, making decisions based more on how he values and feels about things, hence his goal. Considering this, the Te auxiliary fits in perfectly. Deciding on his enneagram was just as difficult, if not more so. I considered the ‘popular’ enneagram votes on this profile (at the time of writing this: 1w9[11] and 4w5[3]) but I don’t really see either of them that strongly. In particular, I thought a 1w9 was more driven by morality and other people in a general sense, but Vincent is very self-driven over anything else. I feel as though he may have this somewhere in his tritype, but I can’t see it being his strongest tendency. I can kind of understand the 4w5 idea, especially in the subtleties, but at a core level I feel like 5w4 would make more sense. The way I understand it, the 5w4 often pursues knowledge and understanding of the world with a basic desire to feel helpful and able. I feel like this fits the character perfectly, especially considering his context as an ‘Invalid’ in the film. I also think this could explain his atypically high, almost Si dom like, awareness of details as an Ni dom. As I understand it, a 5w4 also often struggles a lot with thinking realistically and practically, and the whole plot of the film is based around him counteracting this by utilising his, ultimately, more powerful strengths. Thoughts? Open to any other ideas.
