Hop Pop Clearly gathers information via an Extroverted function. Throughout the show, we see that he takes pride in his achievements, even more-so that most. He takes pride in his family's history as esteemed farmers, boasting about his family's market stand constantly. Everything in Hop-pop's life is governed by achievement. This shows a strong connection to practicality and efficiency. He also has a tendency to work ideas down to a single, most efficient option, "filtering" ideas to their logical conclusion. This shows a strong connection to Ni, which often represents the search for truth. He appreciates physical endeavors, shown by his vocation in Farming, and his hobbies like fishing; he loves the outside world and exploring what it has to offer. Noise and discussion is almost required for him to function, and he gets anxious if his senses are not stimulated. All of this points to Se. Without spoilers, we see in the finale that he stands for far more than than farming, yet it still falls within his goal-centered mindset. He clearly wants to achieve something for the people of the valley, reinforcing the Te Ni mindset. His inferior Fi is pretty clear. He often puts efficiency or logic before his own feelings, or those around him. We see that, despite this, he forms sentimental bonds with objects, people, and pets, but tries to hide it because it is inefficient and he does not want to spoil his reputation. Hopediah "Hop Pop" Plantar is the tritagonist of Amphibia. He is the traditional and over-protective grandfather of Sprig and Polly, and the guardian of Anne Boonchuy, until she finally returned back to her home.
