What personality type is Shion? Shion is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 1w2 - sx/so - 125 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.
Shion actually doesn't seem like a 9 at all. 9s are naturally conflict-avoidant. They will avoid any situation that will cause them to feel angry, and if they are placed in a situation that causes a disturbance of peace, they will find some way to shield themselves from it to protect their core desire, "to be at peace". In fact, Shion seems rather disturbed by the notion of peace, which is evident in the fact that he leaves the peace of No.6 and finds himself feeling more natural among the chaos of West Block. Such a thing would cause a type 9 such distress, that they may even break down. He seems to be more aligned with the core desire of type 1, which is "to be good". Shion always wants to do what is right, defending his desire to save No.6 from the wickedness of the government. The scene that made me almost certain about type 1, though, was after he killed the person who was about to kill Nezumi. To clarify, I'm referring mostly to the scene in the manga, as I know that the anime scene is a bit different. "Can I be forgiven?" This is the key phrase. Shion nearly kills himself afterward for betraying his moral principles. He asks himself what made the person he killed any different from the people in the trash chute, and what made him any different from the people who killed the people they found in the trash chute. Nezumi quickly assures him that he actually saved him, and only realized that killing himself wouldn't be right when Nezumi cries, telling him that killing himself would just mean that he killed *another* person. What even is the argument for type 9? The entire manga is centered around his desire to be good. Hard to imagine any other type.
Biography
Shion is the main character of the light novel, manga, and anime, No.6. Living in the city of No.6, he is found by Nezumi fleeing from the authorities when they were children. Later Shion would be rescued by him as they both delved into the true situation concerning the city.
