Nick Drake MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Nick Drake? Nick Drake is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sp/sx - 495 in Enneagram, in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.

EDIT: I made this when I wasn’t very well versed in cognitive functions. My argument obviously doesn’t stand, but I’m not going to delete it I thought it’d be interesting to analyse Nick as a different type, as I saw potential in him being an INFJ. I was also quite inspired by @samofxchurh to make this. Do bare with me and the mistakes I make as it’s my first time trying to type someone in quite a lot of depth and I'm still learning about the functions so bare with me. Sorry if this is too long, I just wanted to be somewhat thorough in my analysis. - Ni I’ve read quite a few biographies about Nick, as well as read the few interviews he gave out. Even though I see a lot of Fi in him, I think it could be interpreted as being his enneagram because the 4 is a very Fi based type. In his songs, he liked to cast himself as the role of an observer rather than the participant which, in my opinion, is quite an Ni dom-inferior Se thing. Ni Doms spend lots of time observing the world and noticing patterns. A good friend of Nick’s described him as being, "Fascinated by the supernatural" and, that he had a great interest in spiritual mysticism. He was quoted saying, “It is not just us that lives and breathes, so does the earth and everything else”. It could be interpreted as quite an Ni-Fe thing to say, as he notices the connectivity of the world around him and cares about it’s significance. As another user (@silvio who made many points about the Ni aura that I agree with) on this page said, his song ‘Magic’ is a song that gives off that Ni vibe. Nick's privateness even with his family, friends and teachers, caused him to have this sort of mysteriousness. People who encountered him in his teenage years often said,"nobody knows him", which I find to be a very Ni-Fe thing; it's a sort of chamelon-esque behaviour of fitting in yet people not really knowing you. He was often described as being a,"shy boy, but full of humour, charming and, ambitious". Even his closest friends, at the time, would say,"He was a very private person... it seemed there were great depths there". 1/4

Biography

Nicholas Rodney "Nick" Drake (1948–1974) was an independent British musician now known as of the more influential folk singer/songwriters in recent memory. He never achieved popular success in his lifetime, and died tragically young at 26 from an overdose of antidepressants in an apparent suicide, but recognition for both him and his work grew considerably after his death, even with the small handful of works he was able to release before his death (some of which didn't sell more than 5000 copies upon release). Some of his best-known songs include "Things Behind the Sun", "Northern Sky" and "Pink Moon" (which exploded in popularity after being used for a Volkswagen Cabriolet commercial in 1999). Nick was known for being highly reclusive, refraining from live performances and interviews (which has been said to have contributed to his lack of commercial success), to the extent that there is no known video footage of him as an adult — only still photos and footage.
