Sammie Moore MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Sammie Moore? Sammie Moore is an ISFP personality type in MBTI, 4w3 - SP4 - 497 in Enneagram, RCUAI in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.
I'm genuinely unsure why Sammie is getting voted SEI. He's the opposite of a Si base; "The orientation of main functional block of SEI: main things in life are harmony, comfort, the opportunities for pleasant experiences one needs to show and to share this with others in order to make them happy." If Sammie valued Fe > Fi he would simply have stayed at church to appease his family and keep them happy. It would certainly make his life easier. Instead, he goes along with it for his family's sake, but you can tell his heart isn't truly in it. He considers it a duty ("i'm here everyday, i just want to go for one night,) which is classic ESI. "ESIs take their responsibilities seriously and tend to perform them diligently and with care. They expect the same of others and make that clear. They can be very demanding co-workers and bosses, but not more than they are of themselves." Sammie also tends to finish his sharecropping quota very early in the day so that he has free time to pursue his true passions (music.) Unfortunately, we don't see much of Sammie interacting with his co-workers (other than curving Beatrice), but at work he's professional and much less emotional than when he's around his family and friends. Him curving Beatrice is more indication of him being an ESI. "The ISFj often makes an impression of a person who is constantly guarded, tactful and communicative, but at the same time reserved. The ESI doesn’t readily bridge the interpersonal distance with an unfamiliar person. Indeed, the ESI feels much better among familiar 'tried and true' people." He's much more expressive around people that he's comfortable around, like Stack and Smoke, but shuts down and even resorts to lying/evading to people he doesn't trust, although he still feels guilty for lying to his father ("I'm sorry for lying to you", and him writing a song to express his complicated feelings about it.) Honestly, it is very clear how important Sammie's personal identity characteristics are. Some examples include: "I'm full of the blues, holy water too", "I'm preacherboy, heres how I got the name" "I'm not as good as you think, and I'm not a little boy". In regards to his pursuit of a married woman, "ESIs do not generally seek out confrontation, but neither are they afraid of it. They are inclined to be resolute in taking action and value this quality in themselves and others; however, this also leads to occasional impulsiveness, leading to actions that the ESI later regrets and wishing he hadn’t taken, with considerable self-criticism." His "happily?" was VERY impulsive and due to the heat of the moment; however it was also a check of her boundaries in his pursual of her. If she's unhappily married, the ESI would consider it fair retribution, and refuse to deny themselves their attraction. He was also very impulsive in his confrontation with Smoke ("shoot me right now then. i'm leaving no matter what") and was visibly shaking afterwards. Additionally, after Stack was "killed", Sammie blamed himself and immediately started apologizing and blaming himself, because he felt personally responsible for not stopping them. Realistically, it was appropriate for the situation and most comfortable/polite to leave that situation. Why would an SEI regret following their base function's directive? When Sammie sees Mary at the Juke Joint, he immediately confronts her and very directly says "I think you should leave and not let the twins see you." Sammie is very aware of the feelings and complicated relationships between Mary and the twins. "The ESI sees reality primarily through static personal ethics and stable interpersonal bonds between individuals, including himself, where the status of such interpersonal bonds is determined by his personal ethics." He very frequently mentions his relations to others and their reputations ("you know the twins. they're my cousins" "they call me preacher boy because my dad is a pastor") Sammie admits to Smoke that he intends to just leave and pursue his dream, but he would have a much harder time doing that if his father treated him fairly, and respected his sovereignty. "Therefore, when the ESI meets someone with a sincere disposition towards himself, he considers that he should reciprocate. However, if he notes that this person misuses his trust and takes advantage of him, without regret he will part with this person. The ESI remembers evil-doings for a long time and tries to end relations with someone who has caused him grief or trouble. He can sometimes keep up a superficial impression of interaction when in reality this person no longer exists for him." He straight up ignores his fathers input, upsets him, and then jumps in the twins' car before driving off. His relationship with his mother is much better and more genuine, showing he IS capable of having a respectful and healthy relationship with his parents, but only so long as they respect him as well. Sorry for the long ass post, but yeah!
