Hear me out. Why haven't we considered: ESFP Reira. I originally thought she was an ENFP because inf Si made sense for her. So I'll admit that I'm also guilty of not realizing this. I've completely missed the fact that Ne hardly suits Reira's thinking patterns and decision making skills. I mean, think of it. Is there any proof for her using Ne? Unless someone can give me some, I'll be convinced otherwise. For now, please note I'm going completely off of the choices she makes, as well as some observations I've made (manga + anime based). I'm also seeing a small rise in ENFJ votes alongside the ENFP consensus. So I'll explain why both function stacks do not quite work for her (i'm zeroing on Fe vs Fi, inf Ni vs high Ni, and connecting those to high Se usage as opposed to Ne). ** (Fi over Fe) For starters, Reira definitely is a high Fi user. She is a rather unhealthy one, so I'm going to explain Fi in terms of her character. So try not to misinterpret this, I'm not bashing high Fi users in general. I'm moreso focusing on the unhealthier qualities. I believe Reira has a difficult time putting herself in other people's shoes. Unintentionally, she lacks empathy and has no real grasp on how her actions harm other people. Now, high Fi users at their prime/healthiest, can be the most sweet, self-sacrificing, and *empathetic* kinds of people you may have the fortune of coming across. However, at their worst, they can be like Reira. To an extent, Reira is capable of *sympathizing* with people who have similar problems to her. It's how she is commended for being a captivating singer who can connect with the emotions/strife of her fans. It's how she can sing and write songs with such raw emotion. But none of this is actually Reira demonstrating empathy or thinking of things through the perspective of others. In fact, the songs Reira writes (ex: "Shadow of Love" or even "Winter Sleep") are based on her OWN problems and feelings that just happen to be shared and understood by a wider audience. She's quite in touch with her emotions. But despite all this, we all know very well that Reira is inherently quite selfish. Because she defaults to think in terms of her OWN feelings and not others, I'm inclined to think she isn't a Fe dom. Now, Fe doms can be selfish too, but they tend to do well at reading people and recognizing the collective's sentiments/feelings which Reira hardly does. This is why we see her constantly making decisions based on her own needs, without really recognizing how she's hurting others. Ex: threatening to leave the band because Takumi won't return her affections, sleeping with Takumi despite him being married (affecting Hachi), staying with Shin despite the risks, continuing a relationship with Shin despite the risk and sacrificing her band's image, ditching a recording session, etc. Most of all, she even admits this tendency to Mari saying: "I only took someone's side to *justify my own feelings*." ** (Inf Ni over High Ni // In support of Dominant Se > Ne) [I'm going to keep referencing the evidence I have in my Fi>Fe argument because its relevant here as well] Anyway, based on the choices she makes, we can easily notice that Reira also has a lack of foresight. She tends to act on a whim, basing her choices entirely on her emotions, and hardly considers the gravity of the consequences that are to come. Her thinking is largely present based (characteristic of Se) as she follows her impulses without stopping to think of what could happen in the future (inf Ni). This also causes her to not realize the weight of her actions. And when Reira has many issues to deal with, she goes on to focus on the most instantaneous/new one and ignores all the others she sweeps under the rug. In other words, she is unable to obscure the big picture (inf Ni). Reira can spot the trees, but not the entire forest. Her decision making skills may as well be described by that axiom. That character flaw leads to Reira making poor choices nearly all of the time. Her Ni is quite low, and Se takes over instead. I'm also unable to see her supposed Ne at all. High Ne users tend to be a little more cerebral and tend to have more trouble with decision making. They act less on impulses/whims and tend to consider every possibility before committing to one and moving forward. Reira by contrast, does not exhibit this sort of thought process.
