What personality type is Gemma Chan? Gemma Chan is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 1w2 - so/sx - 125 in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.
For a while I wondered which xxFJ she was with no extensive research as (if anything) I was sure she was a strong Fe user. I’ve been watching/reading her most intimate interviews lately and I’ve concluded she’s Ni over Si/Ne. I’m gonna note it rn, she has a few Si-tendencies, so it IS a close one, but I lean to the Ni side for sure, I’ll explain as best as I can and I’m happy to be the first to give an analysis of her here before she blows up after November 😂😂. I’m a veeeeeeery big fan and tried really hard to pin it down. Agree or disagree with me and be welcome (don’t promise to change my mind, but I’m open to the possibility I’m wrong). Here’re my findings. I hope I’ve done a good enough job of it (you blunt 7w/8ws will let me know if I’m wrong 😂😂). Another note: I very quickly ruled out ESFJ because I don’t see any strong prevalence of Ne in her, but I left some room for inf-Ne, ultimately pitching my dissection as ISFJ vs INFJ (I’ll explain why I’m leaving out ENFJ below). ISFJs and INFJs have a lot of similar traits in the threads of their shared aux-Fe / tert-Ti. You don’t have to watch 3 minutes of a Gemma Chan interview (or, you know, anyone interviewed talking ABOUT her) to see especially her Fe sticking out like a sore thumb. We can see she’s a heavy Fe user and that Ti follows that too closely for her to be a Fe-dom, but I’m not really going to be making a case for the obvious functions (which I believe are aux-fe and tert-ti) in my analyses, though I’ll use them to make my case in some instances. What I’ve been looking for primarily is SI vs NI-dom (as well as how 1w2 translates in either) to know once and for all. It’s been hard because generally speaking, both IxFJs can be very “traditionalist” or…”show patterned/or draw on past repetitive behaviour” for lack of a better term, in a way that might look like strong Si (tho “traditional” isn’t really a term that can umbrella Si anymore because of our current world, I know, but bear with me).

Gemma Chan (born 29 November 1982) is a British film, television, and theatre actress and former fashion model. Born in London and brought up in Kent, Chan attended the Newstead Wood School for Girls and studied law at the University of Oxford. She gained a position in a law firm following graduation, but chose to pursue a career in acting instead, studying acting at the Drama Centre London.
