it is important to note that the biggest distinguisher of Fe and Fi is where one's values stem from. for Fe, values are external, objective; for Fi values are internal, subjective. after re-reading Catching Fire, here are some Fi examples i noticed: when peeta offers his winnings to Rue and Thresh's families, he didn't ask for permission to do so in the case that it wasn't legal. this is an example of Peeta acting on what he values despite how it could put him in trouble with others. he is not concerned with what is objectively the "right" thing to do in this situation. when peeta and katniss are dancing at the party in the Capitol, he expresses how he's gone along with what he's been told to do, to be disingenuous on the tour and to try to fit in with the people of the Capitol, but he says he can't stand it anymore. he also expresses he regrets trying to subdue the districts on the tour. katniss is the first one to notice that he's saying all of this at a Capitol party and that therefore this isn't the place to voice his thoughts. this goes to show that peeta is more focused on his own values than others' values, and even katniss is more in tune with what's socially acceptable. when peeta cuts katniss and haymitch off from drinking, he dumps all of their liquor down the drain, and then he threatens to turn either of them in if they continue to drink. he passionately explains how he's ensuring there are no drunkards on their team because "two of us are coming home from the Capitol." he finishes his explanation of his desired training regimen with "And one of us is going to be victor again whether you two like it or not!" for peeta here, it's not about what katniss and haymitch want or what they're feeling; it's about what peeta wants and what peeta's feeling. he establishes a plan that will objectively make them stronger (Te) while fulfilling his subjective wishes (Fi). when peeta paints rue for his Gamemaker session, it's because he "just wanted to hold them accountable, if only for a moment. For killing that little girl." immediately afterwards, Effie and Haymitch scold him for his "forbidden" thinking. this is one of the strongest instances where he demonstrates Fi--he's expressing what he believes is wrong and stands his ground when he's criticized for it. he's very clearly going against the social values in order to stay true to his own perceptions and morals. these are just a few examples, but to me, they go to show that he's a Fi user > Fe user. although he is empathetic and knows how to manipulate a crowd, it does not necessarily equate to him being a Fe user--and i hope these examples show that!!!
