Personality

What personality type is Phosphophyllite (Lapis)? Phosphophyllite (Lapis) is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/so - 514 in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, LII in Socionics.

I find it really fascinating that the creator was able to illustrate Ni grip so accurately, and with such intensity as well. The congruency of Phos's personality change (ESFP—>INTJ) with function theory was super satisfying to see develop as a whole. (Additionally, I’m aware that one’s type does not change, though the fact that Phos gains the mind and therefore cognitive abilities of Lapis may allow their personality to be considered polarizable up to this point. Personally, I prefer to see this character as an unhealthy extension of their original self rather than something entirely new, but it might be up to interpretation.) I'll make an argument anyways, since the profile is here! For their type, Ni dominant was pretty obvious in their consistent projections of reality without regards to Se practicality and enjoyment. Phos sacrificed a lot of immediate fufillment and gains with the hope of feeding their long-term plans regarding the Lunarians and gems. Their ability to see a concept for what it is, rather than what it means, gradually decreased throughout the series until reaching a tragic downfall. TeFi was less clear to me in comparison, but still quite prominent in their character. While one might argue for ENTJ from Phos's apparent immorality and neglect of interpersonal sensitivity, this is discounting the emotional basis in their actions from the beginning. By continually questioning whether actions line up with personal values, Phos is not solely focused on objective reasoning or organization; Rather, they project their unique ideals of what is correct onto the world (the gems) through generalizations of data and assessments of society's "laws"—all in support of dominant Ni. This also indicates a strong 1 fix, though core 5 is much more plausible in regards to motivation/behavior alone, as opposed to natural foci from cognitive perception and judging. Phos's "post-winter" profile on here, representing the character's imitation of Antarc after a traumatic experience, is typed as 6w5 due to their constant rationalizing, worrisome attitude, and re/evaluations of loyalty. However, after obtaining Lapis's head, along with their inquisitive and intuitive nature, the shift to type 5 is obvious. While still concerned with loyalty and support, Phos shows an extreme preference for finding the truth and controlling their inner reality. They have an increasing need for competency and security of their beliefs/strategies as a 5 would in every aspect. I'd be interested to hear arguments for 1 core as well—it'd definitely be more interesting to think phos disintegrated from 7 along with 'gripping'. Overall, a very complex and simple character at the same time, pretty interesting and a great series imo
