In light of the original Hikaru using Ti–Fe in contrast to the “Hikaru” who uses Fi–Te: The original Hikaru is a bit dishonest with his feelings, often hid his true feelings, but the way he did it seems a bit little fake from the surface. It was as if he put on a mask, and anyone paying attention can sense that something is off or that his words are just a shallow comment/ he ain't trying to be deep or smth, which is exactly what he intends. Yoshiki picked up on that and understood it as Hikaru’s way of protecting himself. Whenever someone got close to figuring him out, he’d joke around or redirect the conversation (like in the scene at his parents’ grave). Yoshiki recall him as a “closed book”, someone who kept his emotions tucked away and carefully read the mood around him But the “Hikaru” is the complete opposite. He’s an open book, wearing his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t truly hide his feelings at all. And when he does try to, it isn’t fake. There is a real sadness or pain behind it, not a mask. The fakeness belonged to this original Hikaru, who used it to cover up his true emotions, whereas the “Hikaru” shows his feelings so openly that even his attempts at hiding them feel honest
