I think he is a 6, while he does have the helpfulness of a 2, it doesn’t come from the “giving to get” mentality 2s have, it comes from wanting to be good. But 1s focus inward on their ideals while orel focuses outward on authority (in this case, clay and the church is his authority). He is not black and white like a 1 core, he is more grey thinking (when he befriends Stephanie, his parents tell him not to and he is immediately discouraged.) a one would be more rigid on sticking to hanging out with Stephanie. Orel questions his beliefs and goes to the church for guidance, his form of reassurance is asking questions. Bloberta is a better example of a 2 core than orel, with her manipulative, hedonistic and seductive nature. Orel doesn’t help for love, he helps for god which in turn boosts his security in the world around him. At the end of almost every episode, it’s him asking Clay for reassurance which boosts his faith, which is his sense of safety. This is why he goes nuts when he can’t attend church. I think he’s an example of a healthy six, as post nature we see him forming his own opinions for himself and learning to trust in his feelings without the bibles and clays reassurance
Biography
Orel Puppington is the titular main protagonist of Moral Orel. He is a devout Protestant Christian who uses its lessons to navigate life and its hypocrisies. Orel lives in the religious Protestant Christian town of Moralton with his abusive alcoholic father, Clay, his clean-obsessed and emotionally-detached mother, Bloberta, and his neglected 7-year-old half-brother, Shapey. He is optimistic, friendly, open-minded, and a good hearted individual whose life practically revolves around Christian moral codes. However, he is prone to take advice from other adults in town very literally, with disastrous results. #IncorruptablePureGoodness
