Jaune Arc MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Jaune Arc? Jaune Arc is an ENFJ personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - so/sp - 639 in Enneagram, RLOAI in Big 5, in Socionics.

jaune's one of those characters that may seem to have a difference between his early Volume portrayals and later ones where he's more mature and has grown as a person. That being said, I think it's always been the case that he's an ENFJ, albeit not a healthy one for a good deal of the show's run. Think back to our proper introduction to him where he's talking to Ruby way back in Volume 1. One of the main takeaways for why he decided to help out and talk to Ruby then was because of something his mom said: "Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet." This people focus is evident throughout the show, lifting others up, encouraging them to do what's best for them, inspiring them to do great things. Almost every Volume has an applicable example of his Fe, even in the times where he's self-destructive and going through unhealthy coping: -V1: The aforementioned "strangers are friends you haven't met yet" example, standing up to Cardin in the interest of his team and taking steps to being a leader. -V2: Talking with Neptune and encouraging him to talk to Weiss despite Jaune's own feelings of attraction to her just to make sure she had a good night, wearing the dress he promised to do for Pyrrha if she didn't get a date because "a promise is a promise". -V3: Inspiring Pyrrha to go after her destiny and take the Fall Maiden powers (though he was unaware of this latter portion), and later to rally her during the Battle of Beacon when she loses her will to fight. -V4: Lashing out with Ti towards Qrow when he perceived that keeping secrets was what not only led to Pyrrha's demise, but potentially using Ruby as bait to draw out Salem's minions (this comes up again, his dislike of secrets and wanting others to be open like he is), then later inspiring Ruby to keep strong and that RNJR was in full support of her despite all the trials and tribulations -V5: "If I die buying them time, then it's worth it! They're the ones that matter!" -V6: Lashing out about Oz's secrets when RWBY tells them about Jinn and comforting the red-haired woman at the statue -V7: Just his general social awareness of people's dislike of Ironwood, suggesting ways to get the people on his side, rallying the schoolkids during the Battle of Mantle. -V8: Mediating when Ruby and Yang started to have their disagreement on how best to help the city, trying to get through to Ren during his angsty bits of the Volume, convincing Winter to let them rescue Oscar, convincing people to evacuate, etc. Heck, even his Semblance is literally boosting others' abilities to do things they're usuaully unable to do on their own, just like he inspires them with his words. Definite Fe-dom. He's also known to be a planner, especially in later Volumes where he's usually analyzing situations and coming up with the right solution to the problem at hand. You see it with the Death Stalker calls in V1, strategizing against the Nuckelavee in V4, figuring out how his Semblance works just by the feeling of it in V5, the airship heist and strategizing against Cordovin's mech in V6, trying strategies against the Hound and coming up with the idea on how to rescue Oscar and scout Monstra for the Ace-Ops, and as the origin of the "teleporting people to another kingdom" idea in V8. That's not to say planning is exclusively related to Ni, but it tends to be a byproduct of it, and he uses it as a way to potentially engage his weak Ti, which gets called out if something isn't fully thought out (i.e. the teleportation example). I think his inf-Ti was a big part of his mid-Volume behaviors during the Pyrrha grieving process, where he lashes out with logic regarding problems that trigger his Fe, such as Qrow and Ozpin's inability to be forthcoming. I've noticed that Jaune seems a bit weak in the Se department, but not only has he gotten significantly better with it over time (the dude's got insane natural strength and reflexes, which high to mid-range Se users tend to have by proxy of how they view and engage with the world), and always seems impressed by in-the-moment things such as the Ace-Ops instinctually knowing what to do against the Geist without any prior planning. A lot of his inspirations come from being present in the moment and seeing what's going on at that exact moment instead of ruminating on past events or the future, especially now that he's in a healthier place. Hopefully that fully encompasses why I think he's an ENFJ.
