🗡️𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁🗡️ PART 1 Finn, who has a strong preference for tangible reality and scoffs at imagination, being voted E7 is unfortunate to say the least. With his strong penchant for justice and constant need to play the hero, as well as his strong inclination to band with others and protect the weak, I think SO8 is an apt typing for him. 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 E7 is first and foremost a highly intellectual and imaginative type with a preference for the abstract. Finn says himself that he'd rather die than be imaginative, a strange sentiment for an E7. Other than an optimistic mindset and repressing pain, two traits that can be chalked up to E8's aversion to vulnerability, I see no E7 traits in him. Finn may be self-sacrificing, but this doesn't come in the form of a sacrifice of gluttony or a need to be seen as saintly. Ichazo titled SO7 "Social limitations" and described them as having an ideal of saintliness in order to not be seen as a gluttonous exploiter. They're very sensitive about how they're perceived and thus predetermine their social activities. According to Naranjo, "𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘌7. 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦, 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘮, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴." Finn's serviceable behavior isn't rooted in a need to see himself and to be seen as extraordinary. SO7s are also described by Naranjo as allergic to physical violence, which is strange for a character whose first instinct is physical violence throughout a majority of the series. Finn's personality is much better aligned with the SO8 who is impulsive, quick to anger and aggression, and whose service towards others is rooted in protection and reciprocal loyalty rather than a desire for saintliness. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 "That day, I vowed to help anyone in need no matter how small their problem." Ever since being abandoned as a baby, Finn made it his goal to band with others who need help and protect the weak. Ichazo titled SO8 "Social relations." He described the SO8 as attempting to keep everybody happy and putting their aggression towards justice and protection. Naranjo says, "𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥, 𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦." Naranjo adds that "𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺." Finn, especially when he was younger, responded to any threat or provocation with violence, but he always framed these violent tendencies as responding with justice. In his own words, "I'll slay anything that's evil. That's my deal!" His aggression was always, to him, aimed at righting wrongs and protecting others. According to Naranjo, "𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌8, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘧 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯; 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦, 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵." Like the SO8 is described, Finn is friendly and caring, but can quickly become aggressive when he feels that an injustice is occurring. Another prominent E8 trait that Finn showcases time and time again is a rejection of vulnerability. In his own words, "That's going in the vault" and "Yeah man, it's tough. I'm a tough kid." According to Naranjo, "𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦, 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦: 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦, 𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘺..." No matter what happens to Finn, he refuses to show any weakness or dwell on his pain. This is more apparent than ever in Fionna & Cake with his advice to Simon about ignoring sadness and negativity.
