Xue Youbing（薛友兵）, nicknamed "Sunflower Seed Guy（瓜子哥）" (born in 1979), gained online attention after being assaulted on November 24, 2014, on Suzhou bus route 142 for repeatedly eating sunflower seeds and littering the shells. A man in a suit, surnamed Liu, tried to stop him but was repeatedly harassed by Xue, who said "What grudge do you hold against me?" 37 times over 7 minutes. On that day, Xue was eating sunflower seeds and spitting out the shells on the bus. Liu's attempts to stop him were ignored, and Xue's clothes were torn. The driver, Mr. Qi, stopped the bus and noticed Xue grabbing Liu's clothes and repeating, "What grudge do you hold against me?" Xue prevented Liu from getting off the bus and demanded his ID card. Liu then lost control and struck Xue on the head for nearly 20 seconds. After police mediation, both parties signed a mediation agreement, with Liu agreeing to pay 100 yuan in medical expenses.
