REVISED TYPOLOGY COMMENT “Oh, thanks.” MBTI: Si-Fe-Ti-Ne —> Si-Ne —o—> Cognitively, Rory predominantly sought after a stable narrative that involved an internalized recreation of his “surroundings” and the “world” around him otherwise, his sensory “impressions” having been “colored by personal experiences”— as such, Rory was very “detail-oriented” and pragmatic; in “The Eleventh Hour” (S5-E1), Rory demonstrated his aptitude for processing sensory details in the form of have paid attention to the seemingly odd occurrences surrounding the comatose patients he was looking after, taking photos to account for— but my god, did Dr Ramsden really have to be so hard on him? —o—> Contrarily, Rory was adverse to contrary possibilities beyond what he understood to be stable, having been prone to “worry about everything that could possibly go wrong” as well as “stress” given the concerning “potential scenarios”; in “The Eleventh Hour”, Rory was - very understandably - thrown off by the events of the Doctor of Prisoner Zero having been real, having become a bit unsettled by the possibilities for uncontrollable events— especially so when the Doctor had summoned the Atraxi back to make sure that they’d never return to Earth. —> Si-Fe —o—> Secondarily, Rory sought to actualize his internalized stability through practices that would encourage a “positive emotional reaction from others”, his priority having been to maintain stable “relationships” and to preserve social values of “harmony, common courtesy, respect, and loyalty”; as was demonstrated in “The Vampires of Venice” (S5-E6), Rory was very quick to act on his inclination towards providing for others and rely upon his stabilized nursing skills to attend to a girl that was harmed by Francesco, which was just one example of Rory’s drive to help others. —o—> Rory’s auxiliary Fe had negatively manifested in the form of his “often [being] taken advantage of”, as well having been “used as a doormat”, especially in the sense of his avoidance “of conflict to a fault”; in “The Vampires of Venice” - while he did voice his concerns of safety - Rory seemingly gave in far too often to Amy’s assertions about getting involved with dangerous tasks and adventures with the Doctor, such as with her having disguised herself as a young woman to be taken in by Rosanna— in fact, Rory’s having been a doormat seemed to be exaggerated to an unrealistic extent, which is something I will address in my lingering thoughts section… —> Si-Ti —o—> This may have fed into Rory’s situation with having acted as a doormat— Maladaptive Tertiary Ti seemingly manifested for him in the sense of having yielded his “personality, logic, and opinions for the sake of avoiding conflict” and having allowed in “too many other perspectives to muddy [his] own”; I might be stretching my argument’s relevance to the following example, but in “Day of the Moon” (S6-E2), but perhaps Rory was too quick to internalize the impression that Amy was still romantically infatuated with the Doctor and even later - even if Amy was a Flesh… …or something - Amy’s secrecy about her pregnancy get in over his head, rather than having taken more self-assertive stances. —o—> Otherwise, Rory demonstrated a fair aptitude for “critical analysis and problem solving”, having asked questions to obtain more puzzle pieces in order to “rationalize” situations and how to go about applying “critical insights”; in “Day of the Moon”, Rory presented his openness to formulating more self-evaluative assessments of situations, such his having asked the Doctor if the Silence (the… the Silence monsters… …not, the, uh, not the organization or whatever the fuck was going on with Season 6) establish their rule by post-hypnotic suggestion and then later on inquiring why the mysterious little girl’s support suit resembled an astronaut’s suit. Biography
The Last Centurion Rory is a nurse, Amy's childhood friend, and now her husband. Growing up together with Amy, she used to make him dress up as her "raggedy Doctor", and he's appropriately freaked out to learn that the man actually exists. He starts off incredibly reluctant to travel with the Doctor, out of love for Amy and fear for his own life, but quickly rises to the challenge and becomes a tremendously courageous force to be reckoned with.
