Buddy MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Buddy? Buddy is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - sp/so - 962 in Enneagram, SCOAN in Big 5, in Socionics.

i want to suggest ESFP! i’m going very much against the tide here, i realize, but throughout most of the movie buddy seems much more Se than Si to me. he is captivated by the moment, as it’s happening, and relishes in it. this is how he cheers Guy up. buddy happily points out that this moment, what they are doing, matters. no matter whatever else is going on, to him his feelings and the current experience will always be important. he has Se dom/Ni inf here in spades because he is fully ignoring the surreal implications of things, or future impact, to embrace the present. he has no time to worry about anything beyond the scope of his own perspective. unlike Guy who seems to look to others for their reaction before giving his own reaction, Buddy’s reactions are much more genuine or immediate. he doesn’t seem to have any majorly obvious Ti inf indicators, which are usually abundant in Fe doms; over-assuming others feelings for them without reasonable conclusion or evidence. Buddy never does this, beyond a “this isn’t like you” comment here or there in regards to Guy. but it’s less assuming he knows how the other feels and more-so either his own annoyance/confusion or past experience. comparisons to be made for him include ESFPs like Ron Weasley from Harry Potter and Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh! because they all provide a similar foil. there is little concern between these characters for the deeper meanings if things; beyond face-value enjoyment or being there for there bestfriend, they act like most other things don’t matter. in all honesty, the reason i am voting ISFJ is because i would be happy to see more arguments made for ISFJ! i think there is merit to him possibly representing Ne inf behavior, where new experiences outside the familiar are just too much for him. it makes more sense than Ti inf, Ne tert, and Fe dom. tl;dr i can see a lot of ESFP-best-friend traits to him but i also think ISFJ could be viable due to his acceptance of routine + avoidance of new or unfamiliar experiences
