Guy MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Guy? Guy is an ESFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - so/sx - 974 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.

i’ll be honest—i’m voting ESFJ based on the Fe heavy dependence toward others feelings and his blatant concerns for societal morality, how others are reacting, what others believe, etc. etc. tbh he seems like Emmet Brickowski from The Lego Movie! he embraces his society and the people around him, seems to be endlessly upbeat for the sake of others happiness, and has a strange ability to enjoy the details of life no matter how insignificant they seem... their storylines are very similar! Normal Average ESFJ finds himself and grows powerful thanks to the intervention of a Cool Exciting Girl who believes he’s a loser at first but eventually is won over by the sweet boy do-gooder routine. they even both inhabit worlds that are created by someone else, in “the real world”, but have sentience beyond that creation which makes them special. Guy fits the ESFJ main character mark a little too well! of course, though, i think i can see where the ENFP voters are coming from. emmet had some ENFP votes, too! if you hyper focus on his very literal breaking of the rules and eventual disregard for his societal role, it reads as Si inferior. many Si inf types will break the mold, disrupt norms, and challenge others to go the same. Si inf is also lack of attention to detail, distaste for routine, and not learning from past experience... we definitely see Guy pay attention to detail, organization, and insignificancies. also up until he breaks his routine, he seems completely happy with things being the way they are... i can see the indication of him breaking routine as being Si inf because it’s what he chooses to do once he notices that something is strange about his world. however, it puts a bit of confusion into the mix since ESFJ can still break the mold thanks to tert Ne. steven universe is a great example of an ESFJ with lots of visible Ne traits! this could easily be the case with Guy, since he seems much more Fe and Si accepting than the typical ENFP. i’d like to make the argument that he shows a lot of potential for Ti inferior comparison throughout the movie as well, just not in a totally conventional way. Ti inf characters act certain of others feelings, even if they’re wrong based on evidence. Guy does this, but it’s not as obvious! he memorizes a joke that based on “evidence” of reactions was funny but it ends up being offensive; he constantly tries to finish others sentences as if he knows how they will feel, but is comically wrong every time; he tries to push others to experience the same things he’s experiencing or intervene to “make their lives better”; he speaks for millie at the end, rather than letting her get out her own feelings! what he believes she needs to hear and insight on a relationship she has, with the focus on how she and keys feel toward eachother rather than on how Guy himself feels. since Guy comes off as an Fe dom in tune with the society around him, the flipside of that coin is Ti inf which makes ExFJs come up short when over-assuming Fe without any Ti process. Guy even fails to acknowledge how the system he is presented with works, never figuring out the simple process of “sunglasses people = players = not like him” despite all the evidence he is given. he never seeks to make conclusions from the data that he has unless it involves relationships. tl;dr- i can see the ENFP argument due to plot based Si inferior things, but i can also see the ESFJ argument due to character based Ti inferior things. i’m going with ESFJ because Fe-Si-Ne-Ti seems to make more sense for his functions than Ne-Fi-Te-Si
