𝟑 𝐅𝐈𝐗 > 𝟐 𝐅𝐈𝐗 ↓ this man’s PRIDE (passion of E2) is practically non-existent. nothing throughout the show would indicate that his actions have the hidden intention of gaining attention, value or love in return. he is helpful and emphatic, but any enneagram can be like this. the caricature of the E2 being an enneatype that is a selfless helper with everyone is absolutely wrong, specially when considering that this behavior from a 2 comes from an inflated perspective of themselves, an overflowing ego … that Nick seems to really lack. “The passion of Pride causes the Two to deny that they are anything but selfless, as they ignore their own needs and try to specially meet the needs of others in hopes that others will praise and appreciate them for it”. instead, his behavior does align more with the DECEIT of an E3 —and a lot. throughout the show it becomes very obvious that he is strongly driven by the image other people have over him and constantly taking to consideration everybody's perspectives when he needs to act. his whole behavior is intensely determined by what other people expect about him and the standards he think he has to accomplish to. his whole arch depends on this when falling in love with Charlie, because his relationship would deeply alter the image he is been consolidating and projecting to others. yes, he ends up getting over it and getting a happy ending with Charlie, but he suffers in most of the time of the show with the impressions other people have on him. “The passion of Deceit causes the Three to be excessively image-oriented, as they lie and exaggerate their successes and knowledge in order to appear more valuable, desirable, and admirable than they feel they are”. OVERALL, his demeanor has more to do with creating an image that other people would like about him —even lying, like when everyone talked to him about Tara or when he accepts to have a date with Imogen in the first place. he says to Imogen something that really brings out his deceit: ❝do you ever feel like you’re only doing things because everyone else is? and you’re scared to change or do something that might confuse or surprise people? your real personality has been, like… buried inside you for a really long time. I guess that’s how I’ve been feeling recently❞. that’s why it makes more sense that his heart fix is E3 and not E2. he still is a complete sweetheart and a men that is very considered with other people’s feelings. he is altruistic and approachable, but that does not necessarily mean he has a 2 fix. a person with a 3 fix instead of a 2 fix can be like that too.
