Fitzwilliam Darcy MBTI -Persönlichkeitstyp

Persönlichkeit

"Welcher Persönlichkeitstyp ist {profilename}? {profilename} ist ein {MBTI} -Persönlichkeitstyp in MBTI, {enneagram} - {iv} - {tritype} in EnneArgram, {big5} in Big 5, {socionics} in Socionics."

Here is my argument for Darcy’s Ni. People misunderstood the premise of his character if they see him as Si Dom. This might be a lil scattered. I don't want to dissect his Ni into precise details, but my argument is that Darcy simply cannot be a Si Dom because he doesn't lead life with detail or routine and "playing by the books" like a Si dom would prefer to do. It's important to remember that Darcy is a noble man from the Regency era, so he had been raised to respect and practice traditions - this can apply to any MBTI and doesn't prove he's a Si dom (a bit stereotypical to assume that only xSxJ's respect and admire traditions, likewise assuming that INTJ's only purpose in life is to invent and dwell on ideas that could reform society - nooo! That's not how MBTI works). Him being slightly traditional is to express his status in an environment, rather than highlighting a defining aspect of his personality. His Ni shows when he observes and interprets people and notions. The ones I can think of are: When mocking Elizabeth's less wealthy family after she refuses to marry him, he does this because Elizabeth brutally attacks his cherished Ni. Darcy judges and interprets the outer world in his own philosophical way (Ni), he also speaks in metaphors and has abstract interpretations of people and things. He also has great sense of the "outside world" as a concept, rather than a system. He is terrible with social cues and doesn't like social norms - I think an ISTJ would be more at ease with this and admire this even, Darcy doesn't. Also his pride and arrogance is NOT because he views people as threats to something sensory or practical in his life, like tradition, practice or a specific routine, but because they threaten HIS INTERPRETATIONS and HIS VIEWS of the world, they threaten his self-deceived philosophy. (this is so Ni+Fi) Darcy understands traditions and practical matters, but he doesn't admire or navigate life to achieve some sensory satisfaction, he prefers to lead life by conceptually thinking what’s behind people's motives or how they should live or behave, according to his own morals. (Once again, unstable Ni+Fi at mix here, by the novel’s beginning at least) In contrast to Mr. Collins who's accurately typed as an (unhealthy and perhaps stereotypical) ISTJ, leads with Si because he wants to fulfil practical desires in life, like being married and having some sort of connection to the practical world as in noble society etc., Darcy doesn't have desires like a Si-dom Collins has - far from it in fact. Darcy could care less about practical or sensory efficiency from life, he seeks intuitive fulfilment, which is why he's attracted to Elizabeth, because her rebellious and curious NeFi feeds, and seductively challenges his NiTe. If there is ever any indication of Si for Darcy, it’s his demon function showing up, where he mocks those who have such functions as hero/parent. (This is why he misjudges Jane and often has small banters with Bingley, as they are Si parent/hero types - Ni hero wants to prove their purposes wrong constantly) I think the Si mistype is due to Elizabeth’s own misinterpretation of Darcy, thinking he’s an unhealthy ISTJ in the beginning, until she realizes he's much more abstract and philosophical than what he seems to be. Anyone who sees Darcy as an ISTJ, falls into the exact same prejudice traps as Elizabeth does in the book - I believe Jane Austen intended for us to do this, until we slowly begin to realize who Darcy really is. No, he isn't some kind of loner, philosophical, extraordinary, fictional genius as INTJ's usually are portrayed to be, but Darcy definitely leads life with Ni (probably the most "normal" portrayal of an INTJ to be honest??). I think Jane Austen wrote Darcy in a clever way - probably because she is one herself, she managed to write a very realistic & authentic INTJ so convincingly.
