With San Byeok, her primary attitude was one of isolation from others, observation and hoarding of knowledge, and using that knowledge to survive in the real world. Her quiet attitude and lack of facial expressivity comes from the ego of avarice, and she is constantly teased for this by that one person who she played the stone game with who sacrificed herself for her. Unlike the sx 6 whose isolation stems from speculations of potential danger even without the presence of an jnternal or external stressor, but a conjured notion born from doubt, San Byeoks isolation stems from just not wanting to give energy away to people. Sure she dors not trust given the circumstance, but I notice that she is far more vigilant and observant than she is fearful and speculative of danger. Primarily she does not let people into her mind, exhibiting characteristic traits of an enneagram 5 who holds backs their energy, thoughts and feelings from others. She is concerned about her own self preservation, and she is concerned about her intimate relationships and being there for that relationship. This is through her brother. The impression that I get from this character in the series did not seem to at all be fixated on fear but rather isolation from others and ensuring her survival, which are the core aspects of the self preservation 5 that people seem to not really understand. Alot of people forget that the 5 is also a fear type in that the outside world will teject them, and for the self preservation 5 they experience this sense of rejection and seek to survive on their own. Yes, San Byeok does not trust, and yes that is stereotypically associated with the 6, but trust in the 6 is a result of the 6’s fearful skepticism that does not trust what they see, thinking there is always a motive lurking behind the scenes, speculating that motive and working to mitigate before it happens. This is the fear, doubt and internal self opposition of the 6 that does not trust and perceives danger beyond what is internally or externally present. With the 5 they do not trust because they fear rejection, so they hold back and absorb knowledge to competently introject into the world. its jmportant to note that many sources refer to the 5, 8 and 2 as rejection types. Why? Because the ego vengeance of the 8 comes from that constant need to rationalize things to others that might be rejected, leading to a domain or morality, and with the 2 their love need is directly fueled from that desire to be loved and hence, not rejected. With the 5 it is to isolate from the world which has rejected them. Its different with the 6 and even sx 6, as the sx 6 is said ti fear that they arent attractive enough or that they can trust anyone, and thus they must make contractual relationships, this isnt necessarily the same core principle applying to the 5, 8 and 2. The 6 is said to be more of an attachment type that relies on the art of reason for why they should do what they do. In a sense they exhibit a grander purpose against fear, attached to that purposeful reason.
