I really don't understand why so many people vote for 7w8, Nam-Gyu seeks control, literally drowning in this idea. He chooses the most authoritative participant in the game to protect himself, constantly afraid of losing influence over him, wanting to control the same Minsu through Thanos, which will be convenient for further purposes. Nam-Gyu is irritated by Thanos' display of arrogance, I don't argue that most people think these words were "self-hypnosis", he shows this in one way or another in other moments. He tries his best to seize control, but he keeps aloof, because his goals are carried out by a more naive and impulsive person, whose aggression he uses. He wants to dominate the situation, showing intolerance towards people who take away Thanos' attention from him, because that makes him less accessible. He hates 388 because she was the first to realize his nature. She saw his weaknesses, protected Minsu from him. Interestingly, Namgyu's approaches were much more brutal than Thanos' manipulations.
