Mel Medarda MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Mel Medarda? Mel Medarda is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w4 - so/sx - 316 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.

I can understand both sides of the ENTJ/ENFJ coin but ultimately I believe Mel is an ENTJ. Her decision making process is rather cut and dry, a lot different from her scientist counterpart Jayce. While I know it isn't the best to compare two characters, Jayce is an ENFJ so3, and while I also know two characters with similar typologies still have difference, their thinking processes will differ at some points. That out of the way, Jayce has always been the type to rely on the opinions of others and think of others first. I am aware Fe is NOT sucking up to other people. It's clear he plays off of the emotions of others through his actions. He wishes to be the competent leader that Piltover needs, and he does that by being a man of the people. His entire motivation is through other people. He wants to solve the problems in Piltover and he does that by thinking of the people. His reliance on the opinions of other people is evident, and his constant thought of the people of Piltover is what makes him such a great leader. But this isn't a Jayce argument. Mel's thinking process differs heavily from our leader of progress. Like Jayce, she thinks about potential, but not in the way Jayce sees potential. Jayce sees potential as a method of helping people, a way of advancing Piltover society to new heights in which the lives of people are improved drastically through Hextech. What does Mel see? A business opportunity. Sure, she does acknowledge the fact Hextech can improve the lives of individuals, but when it comes to Hextech talk, what are the things she talks about? Donors. Investors. Future advancements. She sees Hextech as a tool as opposed to Jayce who sees Hextech as a force of good. She easily points out to Jayce that he's painted his back as a target, and how he's a "common enemy" due to how Hextech is so revolutionary. It's clear Mel has a strong grasp for the facts and how it can be used to fuel her Ni vision. Te > Fe. When it comes to the dangers of Hextech, Mel is aware of the drawbacks of giving Hextech to common individuals despite wanting to chase progress at all costs. She offers radical solutions to these problems. First, it's having Jayce as a councilor in order to deal with Hextech himself. Jayce himself is quite unsure of the decision, but Mel is quick to say that because it is only him with the knowledge of Hextech, it must be his job to control it. Second, when Hextech falls into the wrong hands, Mel suggests weaponry using Hextech. When Jayce says he wants to avoid war, Mel counters with the fact it should always be an option. When Jayce becomes councilor, he's mentioned needing the rest of the council's opinion on something (I think it's when Hextech falls into the wrong hands but I could be wrong). Mel's quite fast to say Jayce didn't need their opinion before, and he should just make a decision by himself on what he should do since he knows the most about it. Jayce's concern over people against Mel's concern over the facts. Te > Fe. I think people can confuse Fe dom for the fact she's EIE. It's clear she's EIE through her wordplay and manipulation to get what she wants. It's made very obvious that she plays with her words and plays off of moods in order to get what she wants, but this does NOT co-inside with MBTI, for MBTI Fe is centered around the emotions of a group. Mel does not base her decisions around emotions of a group, she bases it off of the logic of a group. I recall seeing the comments a Mel Medarda character breakdown video and I did watch it. I believe that shows Te as opposed to Fe, and shows reassessment of one's own use of facts. When she sees her mother using manipulation in the same way Mel has been doing for the past few episodes, she ponders to herself. Should she be doing this? Is this what she wants? This is, in my opinion, Fi development. Fi that she's been hiding away because she prioritizes the facts so much more than what she herself wants. Her mother clearly doesn't care. Whatever works the best works, and she doesn't care what morality it breaks. Mel actually begins to think if this is right or not. Yes, she still has the Noxian mentality of "weakness is bad" and her brother's mentality of ruthless diplomacy, but she begins to reconsider if that's what SHE wants. She begins to think for herself emotionally and that is the development she has. But that isn't even my only critique over this profile. It's the tritype too. (1/2)
