hoshiumi, one of my favs in haikyuu. the perfect foil to hinata not only considering their stature and skillsets, but him having a more grounded and methodical approach to life and vb. a well-rounded character who despite being impulsive and abrasive at times, retains a steady and healthy outlook on himself and others. i find his role much more interesting than a foil though, especially given his backstory along with hirugami’s. he’s someone that makes you feel GOOD for relating to him. imma come back to expand on his type later.

Kōrai Hoshiumi (Japanese: 星海 光来, Hoshiumi Kōrai) was previously a second-year student at Kamomedai High, and the ace of its volleyball team. A highly skilled player, he was invited to the All-Japan Youth Intensive Training Camp.
