What personality type is Jeanne? Jeanne is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - sx/so - 962 in Enneagram, RLOAN in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.
jeanne isn't a 2 or a 1. she is a great example of a sx9. she isn't a 2. she has no pride, never uses flattery, has no desire to be seen at all. the only way she is similar to a 2 is that she helps and defends the people she is loyal to, such as luca, and wants to be loved from lacking love in her life. however, if you consider her backstory, the reasons why she is loyal to luca and desires kindness is because of the way she was raised. jeanne is loyal because she was raised to be a bourreau. after the execution of her parents, she was spared in order to kill vampires (her own kind) and take orders without questioning it. she was told: "you are a doll. only a doll. you simply need to be a tool. vessels don't need wills of their own. don't think, don't want, don't wish". if she did not obey, she believed herself and others would be in danger, or as she was told, "if you fail to comply, death will follow". she believed she held responsibility for the death of her parents. she was told to not want or wish, or to not have wants or needs, which is the reason she feels she cannot be loved or cared for in relationships with others and stays so close to her duty as a bourreau. irrational ideas of the sexual E9 (from La pereza psicoespiritual by Claudio Naranjo): "I always have to say yes" Always saying yes serves two purposes. One, that there are few people who always say yes accepting anything, and thus it becomes indispensable. Two, that thus avoids conflict and difference. "My needs comes after that of others" Following one's own need makes a sexual Nine feel selfish and heartless, and this jeopardizes their place in the world. compared to this quote from jeanne: "i mustn't want anything. i mustn't wish for anything... if i disobey.... someone will lose their head in my place again." the skepticism fixation of the E9 (Duran-Catalan) explains why jeanne has a lack of love in her life, which also causes her to easily falls for vanitas: "Skepticism is rooted in the weakness experienced and generalized. We renounce our assertivenes, avoid any conflict, and forget our desires." "In type 9, the “specific illusion” is not believing themselves a right to a place in the world, a belief in not being worthy for love. Naranjo described it similarly, as someone who postpones pleasure in his excessive pleasing and merging with the other, losing himself." jeanne protects luca, and puts this above all else. she is ruthless if she is needed to protect him and puts no importance on herself. she merges with him in the way that her desire to protect him molds her into a shield, a fighter, something completely different from her actual self. her identity is in protecting luca and doing whatever he says, because she has no wants or needs of her own.
Biography
Jeanne the Hellfire Witch (業火の魔女 “ジャンヌ”, Gouka no Majo "Jannu") is a major protagonist of Jun Mochizuki's The Case Study of Vanitas. She is Lord Ruthven's Bourreau, or executioner, who wields the Crimson Gauntlet "Carpe Diem". She also serves Luca Oriflamme as his Chevalier.
