What personality type is Kyōka Izumi? Kyōka Izumi is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - sp/so - 964 in Enneagram, RLOAN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.

𝐊𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐤𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫 [1/3] While Kyouka is mostly correctly typed, I wanted to write this argument out of my own volition and out of curiosity for her mental landscape being quite the epitome of the introverted sensor type, a psychological type that piqued my curiosity. Therefore, this argument is more an excuse to investigate about the introverted sensor, but this fact by no means would result in an impediment for judging Kyouka’s cognition clearly nor an overwhelming text of data, which of course I acknowledge it’s an obstacle and perhaps even an hindrance for readers. Note that I’ll be talking about both Myers' Si (because it’s the popular one in the community) and Jung’s descriptions, which are one of my favorite systems (so much that I bought the expensive book). There are some from Van deer Hoop. Anyway, let’s learn about Kyouka and the introverted sensor type! Si, the Myers function based on the introverted sensor described by Jung, is heavily misunderstood in PDB. Reduced to a function that allows you to "remember the past in detail" and be "nostalgic", both notions can nevertheless encompass numerous other types. Remembering the past in detail is a quality present in any human being, and it is especially exceptional in individuals with photographic memory. However, what would you say about characters with photographic memories who do not use Si at any time? It's just your own powerful memory and nothing related to cognition, though it may be tied to the focus on your cognition (what memory techniques do you use, unconsciously or consciously?). And regarding nostalgia, it is also another independent characteristic of the function, although I will recognize that it can be linked to introverted functions such as Fi, sublime in its emotional palette, or Si, with its particular colorful world, which would be immediately elaborated. Let's see Si defined: "Si is associated with the ability to internalize sensations and to experience them in full detail. Si focuses on tangible, direct (external) connections (introverted) between processes (dynamic) happening at one time, i.e. the physical, sensual experience of interactions between objects. This leads to an awareness of internal tangible physical states and how various physical fluctuations or substances are directly transferred between objects, such as motion, temperature, or dirtiness. The awareness of these tangible physical processes consequently leads to an awareness of health, or an optimum balance with one's environment. The individual physical reaction to concrete surroundings is the main way we perceive and define aesthetics, comfort, convenience, and pleasure." [1] "The instinctive introvert is ruled by his emotions and impulses. These form the subjective side of instinctual life, just as sensation represents its objective side. The attention of the introvert is not directed primarily to the source of sensation [...], but to its so-called “feeling-tone”, and to his own impulses. It depends upon the extent to which he is stirred, whether a given experience will make a big impression on him, not upon the intensity of the sensation itself. This aspect of susceptibility to emotion may occasionally, under certain conditions, prevail in anyone, but here it dominates all the other functions [...]" [2] Therefore, Si or the introverted sensor type if preferred, no matter its "auxiliary" function, will have no preference for the rationality or objectivity with which an object is viewed, it will be colored in completely subjective facets and the auxiliary, usually extroverted function (Te or Fe) is only an instrument to interact with the world and SERVE its dominant function, contrary to the stereotypes that subjugate auxiliary Si to Te and Fe, and thus the aforementioned ISxJ are only "extroverts", ESxJ. "Si" is a collector not of any kind of data (typical of rational types, especially thinkers), but of SENSATIONS that are vivid and meaningful only for the subject and do not correspond at any time to the objective reality. This last fact, however, is unknown to the introverted sensor type because his impressionistic world, a booth of illusions and distorted figures, traces colored and shaded by delicious smells, forms, or a photograph perfectly captured of immemorial times, thus explaining his stereotypical link to the past. "As a rule he re-signs himself to his isolation and the banality of the world, which he has unconsciously made archaic" [3] "Such action [subjective perception] has an illusory character unrelated to objective reality and is extremely disconcerting. It instantly reveals the reality alienating subjectivity of this type. But when the influence of the object does not break through completely, it is met with well-intentioned neutrality, disclosing little sympathy yet constantly striving to soothe and adjust… he easily becomes a victim of the aggressiveness and domineeringness" [2]
