to those of you debating for enneagram, here is some of my argument for 9w8? usui was never someone to get involved, unless it was for misaki. although everyone in the school was head over heels for him, he would never participate in school activities (such as the sports festival) until he had feelings for misaki, who was very school oriented. he’s just a very standoffish character, would rather stay in the background, and doesn’t try to get involved/start conflicts which i believe is a 9 trait. type 9’s are also very honest, usui always rejected confessions because he was aware he had no feelings for them and obviously he didn’t want to get involved unless he had feelings to commit to, if that makes sense. unhealthy 9’s are afraid and even paranoid about keeping their relationships and connections with others. this is what caused his overprotective actions toward misaki. usui never had anyone to be codependent on, so when he realized his feelings for misaki he kinda went crazy💀 his fear of losing her became obsessive which lead to him being a “stalker” and go to extreme lengths to keep her by his side. i researched that 9’s disintegrate into 6’s when they’re stressed, and are hyper-aware of potential threats/overly suspicious. this is shown in usui when hinata appeared. usui was crazy jealous and did all he could to eradicate hinata’s connection to misaki, because he saw hinata as a threat LOL finally, usui is a wing 8. it’s pretty obvious that usui loves being in control. 9w8’s specifically are very adaptable in professional settings, which is observable when they show how amazing usui is at everything from sports to chores (butler stuff) to being a doctor in the manga. and also as a 9w8, he is great at avoiding difficult situations. he always got himself and misaki out of problems. misaki is strong enough to save herself, but usui was always there to save her regardless. (i mean, ig he was a stalker so he was always looking out for her anyway) hopefully this made sense LMAO i think he’s a perfect representation of ISTP 9w8
Biography
Takumi Usui (碓氷 拓海, Usui Takumi) is the main male protagonist of the Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! Manga and anime series. He is amazingly talented at everything and he is the love interest of Misaki Ayuzawa, which then later Misaki becomes his wife as shown in chapter 85. Takumi is a tall young man with bright green eyes and spiky blond hair. As seen in the series, he is very athletic; probably the most athletic male student in Seika High, and is slender yet muscular. He is the most popular at Seika High and all the boys and girls admire him and it is proven many times-huge evidence is shown when there was a huge contest made just to win Takumi's heart on Valentines Day. According to Misaki, his hair is really soft, but was supposed to be spiky! Takumi was born on April 27, as the illegitimate child of Patricia Walker, an English-Japanese lady, and her personal butler Yū Hirose. He was later adopted by his mother's cousin and was raised in secrecy.
