why her inf Fe is beautiful and she recives unecessary hate about it. she wanted to be loved her whole life, she was nothing but a tool to her father at the start. She was treated like a machine meant for killing. However, when her father changes, and regrets not treating her daughter lovingly, it gives her motive to return to him to not only give him a chance but to experience love and closeness from someone else as well. She couldn't bring herself to kill Armin because, he was the first person to speak kindly to her. Where as everyone else she new her in the walls saw he as a cold shell and treated her as such, Armin treated her differently. His kindness was something she rarely experienced it and she cared a lot about it. So much so that she went with Armin, not wanting to be branded a bad person and wound up in the trap that would lead her to her capture. Armin did not like what he had to do, he organized that trap because he wanted to at least remove his suspicions and exonerate her. However, at the end, she had no choice but to reveal her treachery, rending Armin to the core. Annie, by this time likely believed she lost Armin, and all she wanted to do now was to escape and return home. It didn't work out though, she had to answer for the crimes she committed. She cried at the thought of never being able to experience the loving care of another when Eren was about to chomp down, her human tears made Eren stop. She crystalized herself, seeing it as the only way she would have even a sliver of a chance to return home. Despite everything she did, all the lives and friends she snuffed away, Armin returned, and even went so far as to regularly talk with a rock. He not only did this for himself since he cared for her, no matter how Bertholt's memories may have effected that. (Memories are memories, she may have seen Annie's better moments through Bertholt but it didn't change Armin's memories, he just got more information about her. While it may have given him a light push in loving Annie, I think his feelings grew on their own to an extent). Annie likely loves Armin, though she probably is still getting to understand the concept since she never really had it defined or made visible to her before she went into the Walls. She is still somewhat stuck in the ridged enemy ally logic which she defaults on for a moment when calling Armin a good person again, but Armin refutes that, saying that he visited her because he wanted to. This changes a lot for Annie because this breaks the ridged enemy ally logic. She may have once been an enemy, but in Armin's eyes, she was always a human being with feelings and emotions. Annie's biggest issue in life was the fear of being and dying alone, whether or not she could have acknowledged it due to her lack of experience of feeling otherwise. Armin and Hitch not only were there for her after her betrayal and when she was locked away, they cared for her and talked to her. They treated her like a human being, making sure that she ultimately was not alone. Annie always understood "the weak". That scene about marlo talking about the corruption of the millitary and bashing towards people who weren't following the order started a fire into her. She thinks that corrupt people, greed people and other adjectives you can imagine for someone are still normal people and when Armin tells her that he is also one of these people Annie breaks. and a lot of people got pissed at 139 for her doing not too much, aside from that Eren thing that is questionable and deserves a separated talk. she was like always. A fragile girl under a mask who only wanted to be loved. AruAni gets too much hate for nothing. For me they are like EreHisu..... a couple that advances both of the partners arcs.
Biography
A graduate of the 104th Training Corps and former member of the Military Police Brigade. Her exceptional skills with swords and unarmed combat earned her the 4th rank, but she is also noted to be a lone wolf who struggles to work with others.
