Difference of INTP and ISTP mentors (based on nuanced stereotypes): T-doms in general as teachers//mentors//gurus (especially in Japanese fiction, I should include, with the flashy shonen manga formula for narratives) have this penchant for testing their students based on their standards first (Ti and Te) and they will make sure it will be impactful (sometimes borderline traumatic for their students) because they have feeling functions as their inferior functions. Ti-dom teachers need to see what kind of students they're dealing with first because there's a Ti-Fe instinct to construct a personalized teaching style to fit the needs of their students. So they're willing to build their methods from the ground up. Ti-Se-Ni in ISTPs as a teaching method is a bit harsh in the beginning (Ti-Se in its methods is very upfront and forward in it's approach), especially in the domain of Se data the students provide (which we see in the first time Aizawa interacts with the class). I'm pretty sure he just wanted to check (size up) out how well the students perform under the pressure he's exerting (it's a way for Fe inferior people to make sure to strengthen the people they teach, I'm not saying it's the best method but it's the most natural for us in a position of authority) - this is because Se needs to Ti check which student will need further development in the long run, singling them out with a ter. Ni and inf. Fe way. An ISTP stereotype is needing to monitor things in their domain without making their subjects aware that they're being watched. But that's the thing, Se needs to SEE so that Ti can keep calibrating the teaching method in Ti-Ni-Ni-Ti feedback. Se as a parent function in him makes him more "present" in the moment when he's socializing with people too even if he looks disinterested most of the time, watching and listening to people more closely and taking in the Se data they present to him better. Also in Japanese, ISTP characters are more direct with their words and skip "keigo" (polite speech) because of Ti-Ni needing to deliver information in a streamlined way, he says things like "this is illogical" or "you're being illogical" in the very beginning of his talk with people (even the students) because with Ne blindspot going on in the background in his mind Aizawa wants to make sure the point is made to them first so that any confusion with the data he provides will not happen, because it's troublesome to keep providing details since there's no Si in his ego stack. Ti-Se as an approach is more stern and threatening because he needs to see the Se-Fe reaction of the kids. It's a bit intimidating, yeah? Compare this to an actual INTP mentor like Kakashi Hatake from Naruto, Ti-Ne-Si in INTPs as a teaching method highly relies on Si methods (the get-the-bells-from-me test that was also done to him in his chuunin years) but will try to Ti-Ne calibrate the framework based on how his students were going to solve it and his extroverted intuition ideas of the given state of the results they produce, being more laid back in the beginning (relies too heavily on intuition to want to check on first impressions is a fallback) as he Ti observed team 7 but applying the pressure on his students slowly as time passes by because that's how ter. Si and inf. Fe naturally operates with Ti lead, and with Si on the tertiary position this is the logical method he takes to make sure his students never forget his lessons. INTP characters might be more inclined to use "keigo" (because Si) (but Ne can be a bit unpredictable so they might use shortcuts or deep reference puns) but will try to insert Ne wordplay or sarcasm which in turn could and did make Kakashi sound more condescending that he actually was: Ne-Si is okay with clarifying things if there are misunderstandings (but only if you ask). So there is no way Aizawa can be INTP (even if he is the gross visual stereotype of INTPs that some of you are reading off of him based on his appearance, I-want-to-always-nap energy and demeanor). I hope this makes sense, I'm mixed JP and English isn't my first language but I just wanted to provide the nuance of Aizawa's ego stack from my point of view (also it's easy to type people based on their speech QUIRKS ~ haha, get it?)
