What personality type is Guts? Guts is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sp/sx - 684 in Enneagram, RLUEN in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.
Ti- Guts is a man who logically thinks through things and try’s to find a logical meaning for why certain things happen. Whenever he’s fighting and talking to himself he logically tries to reason out what the correct thing to do is and also has dialogues where he tries to understand the dynamic of Griffith. Overall his Ti is very good and is the first thing he uses followed by Se. Se- Guts whole philosophy in battle is to take on an enemy head first with brute strength. He doesn’t do any planning which he leaves to Griffith but gets the dirty work done by being able to hack and slash through anything without thinking. It’s his adaptability and strength that makes him such a powerhouse but also can put him in danger whenever his straightforward fighting doesn’t work. He does however have “the luck of the devil” in those times. Ni- Guts can be very metaphorical whenever he is alone and talking about his life. While he doesn’t often think ahead he is usually using his Ni whenever he has time alone to himself. That’s when he thinks about the meaning of why he does certain things. Not only that but he also likes to put meaning towards helping his troops out and understanding them along with the group. But mostly I think his Ni is used in order to help him strengthen his sword fighting and improve from that rather than plan ahead. Fe- Guts is a very logical person so it’s hard sometimes to get an emotional reaction out of him that isn’t anger. However we see throughout the series that Guts is actually a very caring person and generally wants what’s best for everyone he cares about. While he doesn’t show this it becomes more prevalent the more he spends time in the Band of the Hawk. 6w5- Guts is a very loyal person but also someone who wants security. The whole reason why he joined the Band of Hawk was because they offered him the one thing he was missing in life “support”.
