What personality type is Alfie Solomons? Alfie Solomons is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sp/so - 873 in Enneagram, SLUEI in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.
I see where the Fi votes are coming from and I primarily considered him an ENFP as well but I do now think he´s ENTP. He does hold tightly to tradition and culture, and anything/anyone that clashes with these will not be tolerated by Alfie, but I think this is more Si than Fi. I think we clearly see multiple times throughout the show in Alfie´s betrayal of Thomas that he isn´t at all swayed by his betrayals. He feels no shame and to him its not "wrong" because it is essentially the logical thing to do. He doesn´t have time to be altruistic and morally consistent with these things. I think the perfect example is shown in the "crossed a line" scene in season 3 when Tom had a little Fi outburst that was completely disrespected by Alfie. Instead of trying to save himself, Alfie was trying to teach Thomas a lesson that there are no lines to cross in a "man´s world". It almost seems like Alfie was initially not really expecting such a response from Tom, which could indicate lower Fi. The right course of action to him is the one that is most logical/efficient, not the most emotionally/morally consistent. Alfie consistently emphasizes that emotions do not mean shit. Yes, he has personal values, but if the way he transmits these is indicative of an ENFP, then one is assuming that ENTPs do not have values. Yes, he shoves these values around a lot, for sure. But I think that it is important to remember the environmental factors that play a role here. Alfie is from an oppressed people, and often people from such backgrounds are going to be more shovey and protective of their culture and traditions.
Biography
Alfred "Alfie" Solomons was a Jewish gang leader who resided in Camden Town, London. It is implied that Alfie's mother was a Russian refugee, where his mother was from and that he went to school in London with Darby Sabini. He first appeared in Series 2, Episode 2, having sent Thomas Shelby a telegram as a form of greeting, but also as a way of getting him to help with the war between the Jews and the Italians.
