What personality type is Roland Prez Pryzbylewski? Roland Prez Pryzbylewski is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/so - 592 in Enneagram, in Big 5, EII in Socionics.
Prez is one of my favourite characters, in a show filled with great characters. He's a harder character to type, which I think is due to his character development, I can definitely see the argument for INTP as he has an aptitude for numbers and mathematics, choosing to be a maths teacher in season 4 and his breakthrough with the cell phones in season 1 it is incredibly evident that he has thinking introversion but I would argue that it is in the tertiary spot not the dominant. Instead I believe that Prez is an INFJ, his breakthrough with the cell phones and the way he teaches maths to the students, shows Ni+Ti as when figuring out the pattern to the cell phones he doesn't go through every possibility and test it's logical consistency (ti+ne) instead he goes into the perspective of a drug dealer and uses that perception to find the pattern in their communication (ni+fe+ti), he does this again when using games as a method to teach the children, once again shifting his perspective in this case to the desires of a high school student delivering the information not with a priority of accuracy but with the priority of being receptive to the students. As well as this the more vulgar actions that he commits earlier in the series seem to be a good indication of inferior Se and the inferior ESTP, as when he becomes overwhelmed by confrontation he becomes aggressive and impulsive which is indicative of Se, if he were an INTP he would have se blind spot and be oblivious to the sensing environment, which isn't Prez at all instead the sensing environment is something that he is acutely aware of and you tell it causes him anxiety as he struggles to control it, which is what causes him to be explosive, but when he is taken off the streets, he gets out of his se grip and his fe really begins to shine, as evident with his caring of Duqain and calm and relaxed demeanour with the students.
Biography
Roland begins the series as dead weight that's dumped on the Barksdale detail from Auto, who only still has a career in the department thanks to the aid of his father-in-law, Major Stanislaus Valchek. Prez is unhappy in his job and has a hard time keeping his head while in the street. While indoors, he takes to Lester's wiretapping, showing a real knack for codebreaking, deciphering the street talk through the tinny audio of the wiretap, following the paper trail and organizing the accumulated info on their targets. He becomes a middle school teacher in season four, helping out Randy and Dukie as best he can.
