Personality
What personality type is Pim Pimling? Pim Pimling is an ESFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - so/sx - 927 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
i think pim is sp2! so9 is quite good but I don't see that level of self-forgetting in him, honestly. but i could probably be convinced, I think it's a good alt... my main issue is that i don't see indolence or e9's self-effacing personality. sx7 I don't see mental excessiveness, intellectual narcissism, much intellectual inclination at all, headcore detachment, fear... i actually think sp2 works for him. the enchanted forest episode shows it best, and it's kind of what made me settle on sp2>so9. sp2 pride can be pretty hard to spot and a big focus of that type is being seen as a good boy/girl, wanting to be helpful kind selfless, hiding its flaws, etc.. and its not entirely a cognizant need either.. sp2 can be quite an easygoing and affable personality, as pim shows. the enchanted forest episode shows perfectly what happens when the sp2's unconscious need isnt met. pim's like actually a good person but just because he's not so obviously aggrandized jn self-image doesnt rule out sp2 entirely! i think that episode shows that to an extent he does have a suppressed ego which craves fulfillment and acknowledgement, suiting sp2's repressed love need as opposed to e9's self numbing. he also definitely shows a sense of entitlement in that episode lol: "What's going on here? Charlie knows how much I love the Enchanted Forest. Is he doing this on purpose? Like I don't even exist... Ever since Mip came along...!" ...(Pim trying to steal from Mip->) Charlie: "Pim? What are you doing?" Pim: "Charlie, you don't even like the Enchanted Forest!" Charlie: "That's not yours, dude." Pim: "I deserve something! You got to have all the fun! Now I'm going to deliver this package, and do the final quest!" i think these are pretty self explanatory, i think it fits sp2's repressed need for validation as well as its desire for pleasure more than so9's participation - i think the entitlement is better suited for sp2 than so9. of course this is one example but it's an episode which actually shows pim's neurosis very well and that's the point of enneagram. i think his constant positivity and demeanor overall is super fitting for sp2's pain avoidance (which can turn into hedonism at extremes) and as a footnote, i also think eflv is just better for him in py than felv, he's not as passive, inert, or subdued as i'd imagine felv to be.
