What personality type is Marge Simpson? Marge Simpson is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - so/sx - 926 in Enneagram, SLOAN in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.
Marge is the most obvious Si dom, perhaps ever. She only seems to stick to what she knows and what she knows well. I think she might have weird 9 disintegration into 6 things going on due to her incredibly stressful home life (the several episodes where she is shown to break down, most notably the one with the Nanny) and she becomes anxiety ridden. I can’t see 2 disintegrations into 8, she represses a lot of anger and it presents as anxiety and raw stress which seems to be more like a six disintegration- Marge blows up sometimes but most of the time it’s just persistent stress. She shows a lack of Se and a lack of willingness to be in touch with the world around her, and is usually motivated to do things in the first place in order to maintain a sense of stability, sometimes having very backwards and over the top ways of dealing with things that show no sense of exerted logic (Te usage), just to keep the peace (enneagram 9?) To quote, from memory: • Marge making practise dinners because “at six o’clock, we go LIVE!” • Lisa: “Mom, look at the shoes!” Marge: “Oh, if only I didn’t already have a pair of shoes…” • [After Marge sprained her right wrist whilst curling] Homer: “Wow, Marge, you’re pretty good with your left hand.” Marge: “I should be. I’m left handed- I always used my right so I didn’t look weird.” There are also a few episodes where the entire town changes and Marge’s closing message is “Good, everything is back to normal. As it should be. Forever.” Not to mention the entire Burlesque house episode where Marge couldn’t really get to grips with the fact that the house was old and established- because it was never part of *her* Springfield, Marge didn’t want it there. This feels like way too much work for a Simpsons character but whatever. Marge is the best.
Biography
The mother and typically both the straight man and closer to earth, Marge is predominantly a homemaker, but does have her wilder side. Loving and supportive, her devotion to her family may be strained at times but is never broken.
