Personality

What personality type is Steve Harrington? Steve Harrington is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 3w2 - sx/so - 379 in Enneagram, SCUAN in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.

His relationship with Dustin is amazing and didactic, because it showcases Se x Ne differences so well. In general) Steve (Se-dom) focuses more on data precision, facts, concrete reality, concrete aspects of environment. He has an incredible capacity to know where the things are, but has a difficulty connecting the dots and unravelling the unknown, since Se focuses on the known. Dustin (Ne-dom) focuses more on extrapolating the data instead of the data precision. He has an incredible capacity to connect the dots, fantasy, imagination, but can have a difficult on data precision. He can also connect dots that are too far away, from different contexts, too far from each other, which can make people confuse about his train of thought. Some scenes) I can remember two scenes. 1) One of them is both Steve and Dustin trying to discover the mystery of Vecna. For Dustin, it was everything very clear, because he connected the dots. For Steve, it was difficult, because he sees the dots alone, although very concrete. On this scene, Steve asked Dustin what dots he connected and Dustin was talking a lot of things, getting to the point of reaching the Dinosaurs theme 🦕. From Vecna to Dinosaurs. 😂. "Dinosaurs" was too much for Steve, who naturally prefers to stick in to the known rather than traveling too much. We can see here Se focusing more on concrete data points and Ne focusing more on travelling on these data points like a giant spiderweb. 2) The other scene it's the part where they need to find the Skull Stone. To Steve, the Skull Stone place was very clear from the start, he didn't require a compass to find it, because Se is very aware on the concrete environment and where the things are. However, Dustin had to use the compass to find the Skull Stone, showing his issues with Se. After finding the Skull Stone, Dustin used his Ne to connect the idea of traveling to the upside down world with compass problems. He theorized with NeTi about the possibility of Vecna's portals altering the electromagnetic field. That confused Steve form the start, because he was using Se and seeing dots instead of connecting the dots again... Steve just assumed that the compass had problems and that's it. Se is like: "Why travel too much on possibilities? Let's just stick to the concrete fact".
