What personality type is Joo Dee? Joo Dee is an ESFJ personality type in MBTI, 1w2 - so/sp - in Enneagram, SCOAN in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
Joo Dee is hard to type bc of her brainwashing but I think you can still get glimpses of her personality in moments of stress. Fe makes sense. I think it's just very unhealthy and manipulated. It's not unnatural(/low) Fe, it's Fe forced to be expressed in a very unnatural way. I think you can also see her Fe when Aang gets mad at her. The Fi-Te overwhelms her and she gets flustered. Fe vs Fi/Te clash. She's used/manipulate to rely on her Fe-Si a lot, so she initially resorts to just pushing her usual methods more strongly to try to manipulate them back into order. When that doesn't work and she has to use her Ne to deal with the chaos, she feels immense mental pressure. She starts doubting herself and her ability to deal with the situation. Eventually, she goes into Ti-grip and isolates herself from the Gaang, abandoning her value of 'being a good host'. She goes back to Long Feng in an attempt to look for more stability or 'truth'. She openly emotes about her confusion but you do see her embarrassment about not being able to deal with the situation, feeling incompetent (inf Ti insecurity). Because she can't seem to control the kids with the tactics, I think it's also internal conflict. The gaang kind of has woken her up and has given her a glimpse outside of that dystopian worldview. It's fear of Long Feng, but also stress about not being able to steer the chaos of gaang to conform with the social "harmony" and confusion about her worldview being questioned. You can also see glimpses of her Ne. When the gaang starts deviating from the social order, she first goes to her relief function, Ne. Worrying about what will happen, and openly sharing her worry that they will all be in trouble (always pointing towards the group perspective). When Aang is found out at the palace, her control slips and she again openly emotes by showing a look of horror. So it's difficult to type her with confidence, but ESFJ would make sense.
Biography
Joo Dee is a special city official who guided Avatar Aang and his friends in Ba Sing Se. Her personality is shown to be very welcoming yet restrictive, with forced smile in her face. She is later revealed as one of the brainwashed women who worked under Dai Li agents.
