What personality type is Sokka (索卡)? Sokka (索卡) is an ESTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - so/sp - 631 in Enneagram, SLOEI in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.
Sokka is a little too “no nonsense” to be an ENTP. Sure he has his funny moments and invents stuff (rather crudely), but this is mostly for comic relief and to paint him as the “brains” of the group. When things get serious, Sokka’s Te is incredibly apparent, where he gets annoyed at people not taking things seriously and values efficiency to an extreme (which any type can value, but an ENTP wouldn’t be so anal about their f*cking schedule). He also doesn’t spend his “head in the clouds” (or just play around with things in his mind for fun) and instead perceives much like an Si user would (grounded in reality, but not in the Se way). Tertiary Ne is enough to explain his role as comic relief and occasional inventions, but to assert that this Ne is dominant....is a bit of a stretch. People annoyingly tend to insta-type “inventors” as ENTPs (Usopp for example), whilst ignoring how Ne dominance actually manifests (flexible planning, “head in clouds”, and a dislike for executing their ideas). Compare him to Aang if you want a pretty good depiction of true Ne dominance. 😾
Biography
Katara's older brother, Sokka took it upon himself to protect the Southern Water Tribe. As a fairly serious non-bending warrior, Sokka is often irritated by the more mystical and nonsensical aspects of the world of Avatar. Nonetheless, he makes up for it by being the team's "idea guy." And besides, where would the Gaang be without his comic relief and BOOMERANG!?
