https://www.personality-database.com/post/5639742?boardID=327860 Why Enneagram 8 is "anti intuitive"/ against Te/Ti(enxp, isxp, inxj, enxj, etc. Basically non Se dom: Enneagram 8 is one of the most stereotyped enneagrams, and no, it isn't all about control (though that is somewhat of a part of it). "Pure natural freedom and spontaneity in instinctual movement is a characteristic of the higher Self" (basically inf Ni) enneagram 8 desires to be strong and indulge in sensory, that's quite literally the passion "lust" (which you cannot not have with an E8) "They can be intolerant of frustration, so they scan their environment for sources of fulfillment: interesting people, fun things to do, good things to eat and drink, and challenging situations to master. The passion of type E8 is lust, which implies a strong drive for satisfaction of physical needs." After you see how many things are sensory related with enneagram 8 and it's all almost in the moment for them, this would fit a Se dom (ESTP, ESFP). E8 and Se correlate by taking in their external world so much of the time. Eights lustful predisposition thus contributes to character traits such as "hedonism, the propensity to boredom when not sufficiently stimulated, the craving for excitement, impatience and impulsiveness." (Against Te/Ti, Ne/Ni). "Lust drives Eights toward hedonism almost as the prize in the fights for the right to pleasure and satisfaction or the reward for many struggles of will and power. Thus, lust should be seen less as simply an overriding need for (especially physical pleasures, and more as a passion for intensity and the right to be excessive." With this in mind you see the E8 is in constant search of power and sensory pleasures, that would not make sense with someone with low Se/inf Se. "Naranjo calls Eights the most "sensory-motor" of personalities. This means that Eights are finally firmly rooted in the physical, in the "here and now" sphere of the senses, and in a kinesthetic, body-based way of functioning. Oriented primarily toward the present, they concrete on what is concrete and what is stimulating right now." (Against Ni and Ne, Extremely Se pilled) "Eights can tend to act without thinking things, and, like the Cyclops, can display an overreliance on taking action." (Against Te/Ti, Ni and Ne.) More quotes "They tend to remain asleep as part of their survival strategy and resulting focus of attention. People with type Eight personalities tend to ignore or minimize any data revealing their own weaknesses and vulnerabilities." (Against Ne/Ni and Te/Ti). "Which indicates a kinship to indolence, to a sensory-motor disposition, and the predominance of cognitive obscuration or "ignorance" over "aversion" and "craving" (at the left and right corners respectively). The indolence aspect of the lusty may be understood not only as feeling of not-alive-enough-except-through-over stimulation but also in a concomitant avoidance of inwardness." (Against Ni and Ne), (Se oriented). "It is easy to see how dominance and aggressiveness are in the service of lust; particularly in a world that expects individual restraint, only power and ability to fight for one's wishes can allow the individual to indulge in his passion for impulse expression." (Do>Think), (Against Te/Ti dominant). It's pretty self explanatory on why E8 is really only possible for ESTP and ESFP. Te doms even being TeSe would still have Te dominant function and that would go against the 8 action>thinking. Same with TiSe. Ne doms would go against the sensory part of an E8 and would especially not make sense with NeTi (again, E8 is action oriented.)
