What personality type is Ryōhei Arisu? Ryōhei Arisu is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/so - 592 in Enneagram, RCUAI in Big 5, LII in Socionics.
He's the healthiest INTP I've seen and INTPs should take him as a role model. Premise: Borderland is a cruel, ruthless and bloodthirsty world. In such a world, being a Se dom or an auxiliary Se would make your life easier, because you need to be in the moment all the time, to fight and always be ready for death. Arisu is not an action man, he has no fighting skills so he has to use his head and creativity to survive in such awful world. Indeed, he would have never been able to survive alone but, thanks to his friends, he has survived till the end. Indeed, I think Arisu's team is a good example of functions synergy since everyone has a skill, so there is no useless individual who do not contribute to the cause. Indeed, we can say he's the head and the others are the body, so he's the one who make the plans and others execute them. Ti: Arisu is very analytical, rational and attentive to any logical fallacy. He thinks twice before taking action. He really cares about accuracy and understanding, in fact, he sees Borderland as a system to analyse and comprehend. He often refers to the internal logical framework of Borderland and his reasoning follows such logic and so he thinks: A concept exists in Borderland, so this B fact can or cannot occur because of this reason or another. He has a logical and precise way of thinking, which is based on his understanding of the system. So if X happens, then Y will happen and we'll have Z as a consequence. When he finds extra data points, then he makes new questions and he has to analyse further to make sense of the system again. So this logical framework evolves constantly. Ne: he's very different from all the other Se users of his team, and the difference is abyssal. When he thinks, he's analysing something, he withdraws from the surrounding world, he's not present in the moment anymore. This is also Se blind. Since he sees such world as a problem to solve so his Ne is serving his Ti mission: to make sense of this world. Si: He's very fond of his past, memories and the old world, so he wants things to be as they were used to be. His approach towards memories is positive and optimistic and it is also his main motivation, since he doesn't want to delude his old friends so their death won't be in vain. I think he also lives several TiSi loops so he's blocked in those memories, even if it is normal to lose hope in a place like that, but his Si is a big motivation to him. The main conflict he has with Usagi is linked to his Si desire, since she doesn't like the old world, while he still cares about it. So he basically fights for the past, the memories of his friends, of course, he's still intuitive and he hopes for a better future, but his vision of Si is positive. Fe: Arisu is not an android, he shows emotions but it doesn't mean he's a Fi user. He's group oriented, he often validates Usagi's emotions and he looks for harmony. He still looks timid in many occasions and he's not able to explain his emotions, but he tries to create perfect plans for the group's sake. In particular, the difference between Arisu, who has Fe, and Usagi, who's a Fi dom, can be seen in the scene of the supermarket when they have the first fight. He is trying to console her but she said that nobody can understand her emotions, so a Fe user would like to get closer to a Fi user but the Fi user closes itself, so ths is a distress for the Fe user who's searching for a connection. He has a Fe approach and he only wants to help and make her feel better but she doesn't help at all. Arisu's Fe is healthy so he doesn't look like a usual android INTP who trample on other people's feelings.
