Biography
Android 16 is a robot built by Dr. Gero, basing him off his deceased son Gevo, who was a decorated soldier in the Red Ribbon Army . He was initially designed to serve Gero's vendetta against Goku, who overthrew the Red Ribbon Army as a child but was later deemed unfit for activation (and was activated by Androids 17 and 18, years later). Despite his intimidating size, monotone dialogue, and seemingly dangerous appearance, Android 16 is calm, friendly, and embraces nature and humanity, aside from a cold and distant attitude towards Goku in particular, since he was initially programmed to eliminate him. He does not tolerate evil and describes Cell as one, as Cell's purpose is to destroy life, especially nature and animals. 16's peaceful qualities led to a surprising affinity with Goku's son Gohan. After his death, Android 17 ends up as a forest ranger, vowing to protect all life forms on Earth, in due parts to honor Android 16.
