I find it almost hilarious how obvious the ISTP energy is here, almost to the point of stereotypes. Having just recently finished all three released seasons, I look at his interactions with Sypha and clearly see their dominant functions as opposite ends of a spectrum. Sypha's clearly an Fe-dom, and so it's befitting that Trevor would be a Ti-dom as a counterbalance. You see Sypha try diplomacy and talking with people while also being keenly aware of public perceptions all the time, while Trevor focuses more on the practical, real aspects of food, lodging, and fighting monsters with his Ti and Se, they cover each other's personality weak points fairly well. That's not to mention the fact that Trevor's socially oblivious even at the best of times, and doesn't really give a rat's bum about what everyone else thinks, to the point of almost always actively going against socially acceptable things for the heck of it, but often acting morally because of Sypha's influence or against his "better judgment." As said before, the Se and the typical "live in what's present, now" describes him well with his lone traveler beginnings and grounded, present reality type interactions with others. Ni is the counterbalance, as he's quite capable of coming up with plans to take down monsters, such as when he directed Sypha and Gresit's people to defeat the night horde.
