Kento Nanami MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Kento Nanami? Kento Nanami is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 1w9 - sp/so - 135 in Enneagram, RCOEN in Big 5, LSE in Socionics.

[1/2] Why not sp3? Being concerned with material safety doesn’t make someone sp3. sp3 is an image type firstly and just because its vanity is disguised doesn’t mean it’s not there. Here’s how vanity is manifested in sp3: >The anti-vainness of E3s Conservation is in wanting to be recognized, but not directly: ‘Let them talk about me, talk about what I do well, but don't tell me, tell others, so that everyone knows. >Intimately related to the need for recognition is the suffering when it is ignored by those to whom it is devoted. E3 conservation waits silently for recognition, and does not feel loved if it has nothing to offer or no one is needing or looking for it. Nanami does not fit the anti-vainness of sp3. He doesn’t cover up how much he “wants to be recognised”. We’ve seen his backstory, we’ve read his thoughts about life. His arc is finished, and yet his concern with image wasn’t mentioned once? The reasoning is simple, it’s not that he covers up his vanity, it’s that he doesn’t have any at all. As for the emotionality of the sp3, the e3 book gives a lot of insight into how their lack of concern for emotion appears to the world: >While E1 is restrained and serious, E3 is more expansive and cheerful or neutral; and furthermore E1 is tradition-oriented, and E3, for the approval of others. >Before a new friendship or a new project, they usually go into a playful excitement. Thus, in the company of other more expansive types, such as E7, E8 and E2, they can gesticulate in a hysterical and exhibitionist way, trying to convey joy and joviality. >It can be said that this E3 does not feel, but "manufactures" feelings to adapt them to a specific objective: to obtain recognition. To summarize, e3s concern with image heavily affects their emotional displays too, they polish their feelings until they fit the situation and people at hand. We have seen Nanami around expressive people like Gojo and Yuuji and he definitely doesn’t try to match their emotions at all. In fact, Yuuji even calls him stiff and unresponsive. His inability to even fake emotion for the sake of his image isn’t e3, or extraverted emotion at all. Another thing that points to introverted emotion is when he claims his principle is to work without being swayed by personal feelings, to which Mahito replies with “You’re so bad at lying!!! Your soul is wavering, you know.” This implies Nanami doesn’t throw his emotions out unprocessed. Instead, he processes them, lets them (consciously or unconsciously) affect his work ethic, and then hides this from the world (and possibly himself as well). This is all very characteristic of 3E. There’s more basic traits of sp3 he doesn’t fit. He doesn’t try to make the people around him dependent on him, doesn’t have trouble being in privacy and most importantly (because this will lead to my actual argument for his enneagram): >It’s as if I think I don’t have enough; I always want to have more and that's why work becomes so important: the guarantee of survival; It's as if I think I can’t rest. I need to do a lot today because I don’t know what tomorrow will be like. Not only does this not fit Nanami’s character. It actually directly goes against everything he stands for. Why sp9? All Nanami has ever wanted to do is live a comfortable life. People talk about how he’s overworked but don’t acknowledge how he feels about this at all. Nanami canonically does not enjoy working overtime. He wants to do things as quickly and effortlessly as possible. The “doing” isn’t a constant agenda. It’s something he feels he has to do in order to not have to worry about it afterwards. To put it simply, he works so he doesn’t have to work. >Laziness in the conservation subtype is disguised as ‘anti’ and works to cover the thirst, cover the pain, not get into the subject. This is very clear in conflict situations, because at the moment of truth he does not usually enter the rag, but rather keeps quiet and avoids the conflict. >It is a lifestyle that does not entail fluidity; only automatism. He does not truly see, feel, or appreciate, but superficially. Renouncing the conflict of being, one dies inside so as not to really die outside. He does not usually show anger and, if he does, he does not usually stay there for a long time. Nanami is characterized by neutrality and lack of desire. This was shown to be especially bad when he was a salaryman:
